Earlier this week, Microsoft became the latest tech company to significantly raise some of its prices in the UK, due to currency fluctuations following the countrys Brexit referendum decision to leave the European Union. Its Surface Books now cost up to £400 more than they did last week, while its Surface Pro 4 range has increased in price by up to 12%.
Microsoft appears to be trying to soften the impact of those considerable price hikes with a new deal on its Surface devices in the UK.
The company is now offering a two-year Microsoft Complete insurance plan with purchases of any device in the Surface Book or Surface Pro 4 ranges, with the exception of the entry-level Pro 4, which was also the only model not to get a price increase this week. The Microsoft Complete plan includes:
Your Surface Book is oops-proof
Accidents happen, and that’s okay. With Complete for Surface Book, you get two years of accidental damage protection – even from drops and spills.1
No more "what if"
Get Complete for Surface Book and you never have to worry about “what if.” The plan provides peace of mind for two full years for accidents, product malfunctions and technical support whenever you need it.2
Microsoft technical expertise
We designed your Surface Book, the operating system, your productivity suite and so many of the applications that you use. No one knows your Surface Book better than Microsoft.
Software support included
Enjoy personalised Answer Desk support and training sessions, whether you’re at home or on the go. A Microsoft expert can help with software questions or walk you through how to back up important information to the cloud.
For the Surface Pro 4, the Complete package is worth £149; and on the Surface Book, it would ordinarily cost £219. On top of that, though, Microsoft is also offering Surface Book buyers a free one-year Office 365 Home subscription, worth £79.99, bringing the total value of the freebies to £298.99.
The deal will continue until March 1.
