MacCentral are reporting that Microsoft is expected to release MSN Messenger 5 for the mac in the first half of 2005.
The new version will include improved security and the ability to add users listed in a company's Global Address List (GAL) or corporate address book and it will enable users to view both personal and corporate messaging accounts from one location.
Heading in the same direction that MSN Messenger 7.0 is currently, users will have display pictures which in the mac version are labelled "user tiles". For years MSN Messenger for Mac has been lacking in upgrades, features and general support from Microsoft. MSN Messenger 5 looks like a welcomed upgrade for all Mac users.
