RtCW: Enemy Territory Patch Coming

Activision sent word today that developer Splash Damage is working on a patch for the recently released Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, to address some issues that have been reported.

They are in the process of tracking down and fixing issues that can lead to a server crashing. This includes servers halting with z_Malloc errors due to a memory leak and access violations following multiple msg_Overflow messages in the log file.

The patch is currently in use on the Splash Damage, id Software and Activision public servers. Providing this patch remains stable, Activision plans on a release to server sdministrators within the coming week.

The patch is server side only, and players will not need to download any additional software.
