Samsung announces the Galaxy Z Fold2 with a bigger cover display

Today, Samsung introduced the successor to the Galaxy Fold, called the Galaxy Z Fold2. The new 'Z' branding actually started off with the spring's Galaxy Z Flip. The Galaxy Z Fold2 was almost an afterthought after showing off big-name items like the Galaxy Note20 series and Galaxy Watch 3, and Samsung didn't say much about it.

It does have a larger screen though, both on the inside and on the outside. The Cover Screen is now 6.2 inches, rather than the 4.6 inches on the original model. As you can see from the image above, it makes more use of the available real estate than its predecessor did. The Main Screen is also slightly larger, coming in at 7.6 inches. The screens are Infinity-O, meaning that they have hole-punch cut-outs.

The Galaxy Z Fold2 comes in Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze, and like we saw with the Galaxy Z Flip, there will also be a Thom Browne Edition. And that's about all we know.

Pricing and availability of the Galaxy Z Fold2 aren't known at this time, nor are any other specs aside from the screen and colors. Samsung says that it will offer up more details in September.
