Samsung gives prices for its Windows 8 PC and tablets

Samsung revealed its plans to release a bunch of Windows 8-based PCs last August, but like many other PC makers it didn't reveal pricing for those devices at that time. On Monday night, the company unveiled the prices for its Windows 8 PCs at an event in New York City.

Venture Beat reports that the Samsung Windows 8 lineup will include two tablets. One is the Ativ Smart PC 500T tablet which will be priced at $650 without a keyboard (add an extra $100 for the keyboard dock). It has an Intel Atom Z2760 processor, 2 GB of RAM and a 64 GB SSD. Samsung is also selling an Ativ Smart PC Pro 700T tablet for $1,200. It has an Intel Core i5 processor, 4 GB of RAM and a 128 GB SSD.

Samsung will also sell a number of laptops, some of which will have touch screens, for prices ranging from $450 for a Series 3 notebook to $1,400 for the high end Series 9 Premium Ultrabook. Samsung will also sell two all-in-one PCs that will range from $800 to $1,700 for the 27 inch Series 7. All of these products are scheduled to go on sale October 26th.

Samsung also previously announced plans to launch a Windows RT tablet in August, but this week's NYC event did not reveal any new information about that product.
