Samsung's mobile web browser now available for some Pixel, Nexus, and other Android devices

Samsung is making its mobile web browser available on Android devices made by other manufacturers. While the Samsung Internet Browser comes pre-installed on its own Galaxy devices, owners of various other handsets can now download it from the Google Play Store.

Samsung had already taken a step in this direction a few months ago, when it released a beta version of the browser on Google Play, with Nexus and Pixel support.

The non-beta release is now available to Nexus and Pixel devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop, or newer versions of the OS. As Android Police reports, it's also officially supported on some other devices, such as the Huawei Ascend Mate 2.

The Samsung Internet Browser uses the Chromium engine for rendering web pages, and supports some web extensions too.
