Google has announced that it has finally begun laying down the fiber network for its previously announced 1Gbps internet service in Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri.

Google's much hyped plan to bring a 1 Gbps Internet service to the citizens of Kansas City has been delayed by months, reportedly due to a dispute over how the fiber wires are hung on utility poles.
