Google has launched a new fund that will provide up to $3 million for journalistic projects across the globe that aim to broaden the audience of fact-checked information about COVID-19 vaccines.

Journalist Studio, with tools like Pinpoint and The Common Knowledge Project, is part of the Google News Initiative to work with the news industry in the evolution of journalism in the digital age.

Google will begin paying publishers for their content through a new licensing program set for rollout later this year, with local publishers in Germany, Australia, and Brazil already onboard.

Google has announced that it is waiving the ad serving fees for news publishers that use Ad Manager. The move comes as Google tries to lend a helping hand to publications hit by COVID-19.
