'The Bureau: XCOM Declassified' is being given away on the Humble Store

Even though the Humble Store's massive Fall Sale ended earlier this week, it hasn't stopped the store's stream of freebies. Following back to back giveaways of Killer is Dead, Brutal Legend, and Sanctum 2, the store has now made The Bureau: XCOM Declassified free to claim for the next two days.

As evident by having XCOM in its name, the game is a part of 2K's highly popular rebooted XCOM series. However, unlike the Firaxis developed games where the player acts as the commander of a small tactical unit, XCOM Declassified is a third-person shooter with some tactical elements.

Another big difference is that XCOM Declassified takes place during the Cold War, with the game's synopsis taken from its store page describing the 60s setting as follows:

The year is 1962 and the Cold War has the nation gripped by fear. A top-secret government unit called The Bureau begins investigating a series of mysterious attacks by an enemy more powerful than communism. As agent Carter, call the shots, pull the trigger and lead your squad in a gripping third-person tactical shooter set within a covert war to protect humanity from an otherworldly enemy.

Compared to the main XCOM series, the game was not received that well, but it should still be a fun experience for anyone looking to blast some aliens back to space.

Normally available for $19.99, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is now completely free to claim on the Humble Store. The store will provide a key that is redeemable on Steam, and the game is playable on both Windows and macOS.
