Ubisoft battle royale Hyper Scape launches August 11 on PC and consoles

Hyper Scape, the sci-fi battle royale experience Ubisoft pushed into open beta earlier this month shortly after announcing it, is now getting a full launch. Ubisoft today revealed that the free-to-play title will shed its beta tag on August 11, officially releasing on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

So far, the game has only seen beta tests running on PC, but with the full launch, console players will finally be able to jump in. Cross-progression is supported as well, meaning any purchased or unlocked items on the PC version will carry over to consoles if players jump to another platform with the same account.

As usual for the genre, Hyper Scape's launch will see the arrival of its first season of content, delivering the new Dragonfly mid-range weapon and the player trapping hack ability Magnet. A 100-level Battle Pass will also kick off with free and premium tracks. The Crowncast Twitch extension that lets viewers interact with streamers' games is getting some upgrades too, including a new Lethal Melee event that can be voted on.

Ubisoft is also offering PC players a chance to receive 600 Bitcrowns (the in-game premium currency) to use on the store. The currency pack can be earned by either playing the ongoing beta for one hour or watch Twitch streams of Hyper Scape with a Uplay account connected for one hour. The offer is available until August 2 at 11:59 p.m. PDT, ending alongside the open beta.
