Windows Capture 3D: Microsoft allows you to 3D map the world in real-time with new app

At its Windows 10 event today, Microsoft unveiled the Windows Capture 3D app: a revolutionary tool that allows you to map real items in 3D using only your cellphone camera.

3D seems to be the focus of Microsoft's upcoming Creators Update. While there are multiple improvements coming to the Paint app, the question still remains, where do you get the 3D content to create your 3D painting?

With the new Windows Capture 3D, users can use their camera to map 3D objects in real time, within seconds. All you have to do is do a panorama around the object you want to 3D capture and within seconds you'll have the 3D model, ready to import into Paint 3D or share with your friends.

While the app was demoed on HP's Elite X3, Microsoft will be bringing the app to all Windows Mobile devices and expects the feature to be available on all devices.
