You'll soon be able to take panoramas with Windows Camera

Over six months after Microsoft ended support for Lumia Panorama, the firm will finally be adding the ability to take panoramic photos to the Windows Camera application for Windows 10 Mobile.

Panorama functionality is coming to the Windows Camera app soon, according to a new report from WindowsBlogItalia. The update will bring the version number to 2016.515.11.0.

The obvious response to this news is "it's about time". You see, in the old days, when Nokia was still Nokia and Lumia Camera was Nokia Camera, different features would be split up into separate apps.

One of those apps was Nokia Panorama, later renamed to Lumia Panorama. On October 30 of last year, Microsoft officially ended support for the app - among others - promising to add some of the features to Windows Camera, eventually.

Now, over six months later, it appears that the firm is finally implementing support for panoramic photos into Windows Camera.

Of course, that's not the only new feature that Windows Camera has seen since it was first launched. Back in November, slow motion video capture was added and just a couple of months ago, forced Rich Capture.
