Varia is a powerful, open-source download manager designed to simplify and accelerate downloading across multiple platforms. Supporting HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, BitTorrent, and Metalink protocols, it handles regular files, torrents, and video/audio content seamlessly. With built-in integration for yt-dlp, Varia allows users to download videos from popular platforms efficiently.
Its browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, and Chromium-based browsers route downloads automatically to Varia, ensuring a smooth workflow. Featuring a modern GTK4 and Libadwaita interface, it offers user-friendly navigation, download scheduling, speed control, and torrent seeding options. Varia also functions as a remote GUI for aria2, enabling management of downloads on other machines.
It runs on Linux and Windows and can be used with browser extensions, providing a flexible way to manage downloads efficiently across different platforms.
