Could be good, I'm still not hyped about it though.

Bof i'm tired of sequels, prequels, spinoff, etc ...

A little bit more original franchises would be welcome.

The only sequel, prequel or spinoff i'm relatively excited for this year of Prometheus.

At first I was worried about what I was hearing this would be.... After watching that trailer, I have very high hopes for this reboot.

I think I've watched this trailer about 20 times in the past day. Definitely gets rid of alot of fears I had for the "Reboot" but I like the way its going and it kind of fits into the Marvel feel of movies.

That said, of course it could be a HUGE stinker but I doubt it based on this.

Jesus, with TDKR, Avengers and now Spiderman = very good year for Comic Book movies!

I have to admit that the trailer does look awesome and I am sure it will impress those who never saw the first franchise with Toby McGuire but can someone please tell me why Columbia PIctures decided to "reboot" the franchise by telling the same, exact story all over again? Seriously, why? What exactly was wrong with the first Spidey movie?

Why reboot?

First, Tobey Maguire is now 37, isn't aging well and looks less like a 20-something every month. If you want to continue the franchise a recast is in order, but....

Second, Sam Raimi had taken the franchise downhill in #3 and with no sign of ticking up based on the script for #4 - a franchise killer.

Third, his series started out non-canonical by making the web shooters biological and bypassing Peter's earlier backstory. This alone could have generated 2-3 films before he ever met Mary Jane Watson.

Fourth, they wanted to follow the less gee-whiz tone of newer Marvel & DC films, which is also the direction the Fantastic Four reboot and Doctor Strange will take.

Damn, just remembered there was a new trailer so finally watched it just now. I have to say, my expectations for this version have gone way, way up.
I also really like Dennis Leary, always have, and had no idea he was in it. If you told me he was in it without me seeing the trailer I would have thought to myself bad idea, but seeming him in the trailer it seems like a perfect fit for the type of character he usually plays.
But yeah this actually looks pretty good. Definitely darker than the previous movies.
