I have already made a report with bugzilla today.

This is the error that I get in the web console when the pics stop loading:

[02:19:20.333] this.cache.image[this.position] is undefined @ http://static.ak.fbcdn.net/rsrc.php/v1/yG/r/DNJ-r_UMuc6.js:16

Looks like it could be a problem with thier CDN. I sometimes have hangs with that. I think FB might be changing stuff with images again.

Please provide your bug number and URL. I will take a look.

Thanks a lot for providing the link!

have you also tried all the stuff like:

ipconfig /flushdns

becuase your connection to thier CDN could be bad. I did that and I had improved performance on FB. It seems as they change the IPs quite often. I have the ShowIP addon and the IP addresses assigned to certain parts of FB change a lot.

This might clear out some of that mess that they did.

flushdns did not fix it

Like I said in the other post, it's working fine in Opera 12 so I don't think that it's a problem with the connection.

Also if I restart firefox in Safe Mode it's working fine.

@Kyang and remixedcat: There is a bug report about that already here. And there is a workaround until they fix it and it lands on nightly.

Mind me asking what exactly they fixed for the Mac? It looks great btw. I do not have OSX but planning on it very soon and love Firefox's look.

Another memory bug fix fixed (soon in Nightly - maybe land in FF7 as well).

Some for Nightly users:

Pros: - Saves a few MB of wasted memory on small pages (like gmail) and up to 700MB on very large pages. - Roughly halves the number of allocations done by nsPresArena, which can only speed things up (I have no idea how much, though).

Before, they drew the background gradient and toolbar buttons manually (using the colours and such from the system), but now they ask the OS to draw those parts (In Lion, Apple added a noise texture to the toolbar gradient, so you really need to get the OS to draw it)

Anyone getting "Update Failed" with FF6 b5 ?

Checking for updates says there is a 2.3mb update, but it fails, gives me a link to download it which takes me to the FF5 final download page

I have downloaded the latest FF6b5 installer - is there another page for latest updated ones or is this a bug ?

That's a good step forward for Firefox, but it can be better...

I just ran a bench to compare browsers with the very big page in bug 678376 and :

- Firefox 8.0a1 before patch jump to 2.0 GB of ram used

- Firefox 8.0a1 after patch lose exactly 700MB and stabilize at 1.3 GB of RAM

but...

- Latest Chrome canary build and dev (15.0.849.0) stay at 1.1GB

- Webkit2Process of Safari 5.1 used 1.05 GB

- Internet Explorer 9.0.2 (with all patch) stay at 838 MB

and the winner is :

- Latest Opera Next 12.00 use only... 727 MB

Lets wait, once all P1 Mem Bugs fixed, it will use really lower RAM. Incremental GC and some others are ready to go but Developers holding back to land them in FF9 (since chances are their that FF9 uses MSVC2010).

Another Memory bug fixed:

FF8 got another feature after Tab detach animation:

^ Nice!

A similar add-on bug landed, as well: Bug 476430.

Why switch to full tab-size notification? When are they going to start using the notification bar-type popups you see in chrome and IE9? These are far less intrusive and better streamlined.
