The PC industry is once again experiencing a massive shock. After a long period of crazy GPU prices, we now have an enormous surge in RAM and SSD costs, with certain memory kits costing more than a high-end graphics card. It is not just RAM, though. Solid-state drives are now getting more expensive as well. Fortunately, it is still possible to find good deals, like the one on MSI's 1TB Spatum, M560 PCIe Gen5 SSD, which is now available for just $90 on Amazon US.
The MSI Spatum M560 is a Gen5 SSD, which means it can reach impressive read/write speeds of up to 10,200 MB/s (sequential read) and 8,400 MB/s (sequential write) when connected to a compatible motherboard, thanks to the high-performance PHISON E31T controller. Random read-write speeds are rated for up to 1,300,000 and 1,400,000 IOPS, respectively.
You can connect the M560 to any modern computer that supports M2.2280 SSDs. However, keep in mind that the highest speeds are only possible on PCIe Gen5 systems, even though the drive is compatible with PCIe Gen4 and Gen3 motherboards.
Like most modern SSDs, the MSI Spatum M560 comes with a limited five-year warranty, 600 TBW, and up to 1,500,000 hours of mean-time between failure. You can monitor your drive's status and migrate data from other drives in the MSI Center app.
