I would copy the article except for the nice copyright message at the end of the article.

I was reading through the Fark comments but I couldnt find the original poster. He said that Vinnie might be ok but the lead singer, Patrick Lachman might have fallen.

Dimebag Darrell Killed

Dimebag Darrell, of Pantera legacy, was shot tonight with another member of Damageplan while performing in a Columbus, Ohio nightclub. Today is a very very sad day for heavy metal.

Yeah it seems Vinnie may be ok. Somone on the Damageplan message board that knows someone that was there said Vinnie is ok and it was Dimebag and the singer. Dunno if it's true or not though. Only sure thing is Dimebag is dead. He was a metal God IMO and he'll surely be missed. Dimebag NOOOOOOO!!! RIP

Anyone with a name like that is just asking to be shot...

Hey ass,

This person was in the ranks of guitar influential history, as already been included in the ranks right up there with Eddie Van Halen as prob metals most influential in past 10 years. Without this guitar player, many of these bands out now would never have picked up the guitar or started. Plus the fact that you should care for your own TEX, as he hailed from TX and was proud of TX.

never really liked pantera or anything, but that is seriusly messed up.  why we let people have guns is beyond me...

Way to hijack the thread and turn it into a 2nd Amendment debate!

That sucks. It's just crazy. It will be interesting to find out the motive behind the shootings.

This is just really depressing to me... While I thought the music of Damageplan was absolute garbage, I loved Pantera, one of my favorite bands. Its sad to see such a talented musician loose their life. Its really going to shed some light on how poorly concertgoers and the bands are protected. This has been an issue for years now that has needed attention, and hopefully something will change.

I'll really miss those guys.

I guess that is one of the reasons why most bands suck these days? I have never heard of this Dimebag fellow... Perhaps young kids should listen to some real guitar players ie Stevie Ray Vaughan so all this new crap wouldn't sound the same.

Agreed, though it's usually not as bad in Canada. I've been to a TON of gigs and they always pat u down for weapons and check your bag. Obviously they didn't do that at this concert and someone should be held accountable
