"Dimebag" Darrell Abbot Murdered on Stage

Recommended Posts

mods are like cops; whenever you need one, you can never find one, and whenever you wish they weren't around, they'll roll up on you with a donut on one hand and a key in the other (either for jail or for locking the thread)

<edit> DOH! just in time, tim dorr :)

I wasn't a Pantera fan and I won't pretend to be but I still think its sad when anyone is gunned down for no apparent reason.

That being said, I do see Tex's point. It kinda' reminds me of guys like Tupac being gunned down.....sad but not surprising.

Nonetheless, RIP Pantera dude.

Anyone with a name like that is just asking to be shot...

So lets see, I call myself Dirty Larry, as a nickname and I have also used it as my "stage name" in bands I have been in. My name is based after the character of Dirty Harry, Clint Eastwood's character that was a vigilante cop and was known for the line saying "Go ahead, make my day." while holding a 45 magnum. So because I choose this as a nickname, Does this mean I should be shot too???? That is seriously the most uneducated, close minded statement I have ever heard. You sir, are a moron. Only way yo put it.

R.I.P. To my man.

Domination still has the heaviest riff and most copied riff I have ever heard.

Sad Day Indeed.

Well said.

No, but if your name was Crack Pipe and you were a drug addict and alcoholic, then yea, probably so.

Glad to see there are some people w/ common sense on this board.

Aye, so do I; their music sucked though. But it's OK if people like that.

Im glad thats OK with you. And WTF was with your previous comment about him being alive if his music didn't suck so much. You disgust me with your lack of respect. I don't see how your music tastes differing from others justifies the death of a human. Why don't you try thinking before you post you inconsiderate ######.

Today is a very sad day for the music industry. One of the founding fathers of american metal is no longer with us. My prayers go out to Vinnie Paul and his family.

I'm glad that the cops killed the shooter but that's not bad enough treatment for a rat **** son of a bitch like that. They need to burn him with hot iron bars, roll him in broken glass, douse him with salt and gasoline, hit him with a baseball bat, run him over with a car, pour boiling oil on him, electrocute and finally draw and quarter his sorry ass.

crack != marijuana

some drugs are pretty much harmless, others no so much. your name doesnt justify your death.

Hey Kiel.

Anyway, some people are inherently stupid. Those of you who are, and dont try to say you dont know who you are, get out of this thread. Why bother posting if it isnt important to you.

Personally, he was one of my favorite guitarists, ever. I had really hoped to be able to meet him one day.

And I just happened to be wearing one of my favorite Pantera shirts this day.

That is one of the dumbest things I have ever read on this board...

Druggies would like you to believe this nonsense so they can drag you down to their level...

Anyone who cant seem to find respect for the man, please listen to *%$^ing Hostile, Mouth for War, War Nerve or Hells Wrath and get back to me.  thanks

When my alarm clock quit waking me up, I scheduled F*cking Hostile to run on my computer when I had to be up. I was famed amongst friends for always waking up to that song.

Also, Cemetary Gates, a beautiful song IMO, was played by me whenever I heard of a friend or family member dying. My local rock station (99.5 KISS) played that song as soon as I gave them the news with a link to a the nbc4i.com article. They hadn't confirmed the news and announced it for about half an hour after that.

Dimebag, RIP. Pantera was a huge part of my life, and I feel like I lost a family member.

Would you please exit the thread?

I sincerely believe you don't know the meaning of "common sense." You make it sound as if no one in country music has been murdered. Do you really believe that he was killed for his stage name or his lifestyle? I think he was killed because some fat, disaffected dumbass had it in for him for some psychotic reason.

...and would the same guy have the same psychotic reasons for killing him if he was an opera singer, NO!!! Of course he was killed for those reasons, like it or not!

A psychotic fan is a psychotic fan, regardless of music genre or any other thing. Look at all the celebrity stalkers there are. People like that are one step from doing something like this, yet its Dimebag's fault he got shot because of the type music he played  . Stephen King got ran over by one of his fans, I'm sure its cause of the novels he writes.

The reasons may not be the same, but the fact is a psycho is a psycho and you cant say he was asking for it cause he played metal.
