HP TouchPad fire sale 99$ CAD

My OnSale order (through Amazon) still shows "shipping soon" as of 10:17EST.

ive been reading on slickdeals that there were something like 40k orders through OnSale so i'm afraid that i wont get one. the deal went live around 5:15PM EST on sunday and i bought mine at 7:45PM EST. little-to-no chance of mine actually shipping.

oh well, it's just a toy...

Idiots on ebay selling them for more than double what they paid for them, i was a genuine customer i really wanted one to keep and use but we got screwed over by all the ****heads buying 5 at a time, one idiot bought 10.

No they are all sold out everywhere. Ive been trying since yesterday morning, by the time you hear about a shop with stock its already sold out.

I had a folder of bookmars for various stores in the UK selling them. I just checked them now, and it looks like Play.com dropped their prices today, as the TouchPad is no longer on the site. Argos is showing up as out of stock everywhere, but theirs are still at the normal price, so no idea if they dropped them while I was out.

The cheapest one on Amazon now is ?249, which is still far too much.

I'm gonna keep an eye on eBay and the local classifieds for a cheap-ish one. I won't pay more than ?120 for a 16GB one.

Yeah had some guy on another forum bragging that the 5 he bought for ?89 put them on ebay as BIN and got ?170 each for them. Hopefully the people that bought them try dont like them and they put them on ebay for cheap-ish.

the idiots trying to resell these for retail prices don't seem to get it. there wasn't a demand for these devices before - thats why hp pulled out and threw up the firesale. the demand is there now only because they're dirt cheap. just wait a few weeks for these people to drop the prices to more realistic levels (eg ~$150) when they find out what HP found out - they can't sell them for ~$300

That kind of stuff ticks me off to no end. I've heard cases of people gobbling up handfuls of TouchPads for the sole purpose of trying to resell them. Nobody in their right mind is going to buy one for more than the $99/$149 price point, but I've seen them going on Craigslist and eBay for no less than $250 or $300. But like others are saying, if you can't get a hold of one now through retail at the fire sale price, just wait a while until the hype does down and I'm sure the secondhand prices will be down to the current fire sale prices.

We don't sell them, and we've never sold any HP stuff and we've never been affiliated with HP or any of their brands. Why would we have em?

I love the lush interface, shows HP put a lot of effort into design it and feels very comfortable in use. The keyboard is awesome and the Beats Audio speakers pump out a decent level of sound. Configured the unit and what not, working really well so far (Y)

The Beats Audio, from my understanding researching the topic after I got my Envy isn't used to enhance the sound of the speakers but if you have a Beats audio headphones or earphones will improve the sound quality in those products. However the difference is still noticeable whenever I plug my Etymotic HF5s in to my laptop at an airport or my wife's office.

My friend happened to be on his way to BestBuy, when he got there the particular store had around what looked to be 50-75 in stock! Tried sending me an MMS of them, but my phone has MMS receiving problems. Will try to get it to post for proof.

Yep, I got mine on Saturday from Bestbuy. They had 75 at least, on a big shelf - 32GB on one side, 16GB on the other. There were more 32GB's than 16GB's. I myself picked up the 32GB. Best deal on a tablet by far.
