It does cite strong language on the rating card but I can't remember anything too blatant so far.

Autos like the consoles, F5 to quick.

Thanks. Yeah, i saw that on the box but I appreciate the input. Strong language could be anything from 2-3 cuss words, to Marcus Fenix starting every sentence with "Sh***aaatttt..."

<snip>

Autos like the consoles, F5 to quick.

Well I just finished the early mission where I have to:

Blow up the car bomb making factory up.

I got the appropriate achievement when I got to the top of the silo for completing the mission.

However, I was killed by two guys waiting up there and now when I reload the game, I have to do the mission again.

It is as if the game didn't save my progress automatically!

Am very annoyed :/

How is the language in the game? I'm thinking of picking it up this weekend but the kiddos will be around. The violence doesn't bother me as much as the language... because they won't be paying attention to it but if there is a lot of cussing it makes me feel uncomfortable when they are about :p.

I think it is fairly bad language actually. I have to admit I do not pay all that much attention to language as I do not have kids yet so bad language does not really phase me, but I am pretty sure I do recall a few F bombs. I honestly could be wrong though.

Does Rage (PC) auto-save? If not, what is the quick-save key?

F5 = Quick Save

F9 = Quick Load

Am very annoyed :/

Yeah just forget about the Auto Save as it is not good at all. I use Quick Save often personally and I think it comes in handy for sure.

BTW, just read a very interesting article on Kotaku about why RAGE is having the issues it is having a PC. I am just going to link to it and put the last paragraph, but I strongly suggest people take the time to read the whole thing. They pretty much explain why it is unreasonable to expect the PC to be the lead platform nowadays, and while many may not like it, I have to admit it makes perfect sense.

"We do not see the PC as the leading platform for games," Carmack added. "That statement will enrage some people, but it is hard to characterize it otherwise; both console versions will have larger audiences than the PC version. A high end PC is nearly 10 times as powerful as a console, and we could unquestionably provide a better experience if we chose that as our design point and we were able to expend the same amount of resources on it. Nowadays most of the quality of a game comes from the development effort put into it, not the technology it runs on. A game built with a tenth the resources on a platform 10 times as powerful would be an inferior product in almost all cases."

Wow OK so after getting the game to run BEAUTIFULLY by changing a metric crap ton of settings, I beat the game.

The ending was one of the worst endings to a game I've seen. Borderlands being one of the worst.

Seriously, they could have done so much but instead they just literally cut the game off so abruptly.

This game was not worth $60. Maybe $30. If they try and release some DLC it better be worth it and not some multi-player garbage. Ugh.

I agree with the sentiment, but not with the end result of what he's actually saying. Absolutely, you can't pour all your money in the PC version -- that makes no fiscal sense. But you can make the PC the lead platform and then work on stabalizing it on the consoles. Seems to have worked pretty well for Valve, just to give one example. We'll see how it works for DICE, though.

so they are saying that , basically, Rage on the PC would almost certainly 'be an inferior product' ?

will take the response to what DL posted a step further than what Ayepecks is saying - if Carmack goes in to the project knowing the PC version will be problematic and inferior, just don't do it, or charge less than the console versions. i bought this on PC without even thinking about it BECAUSE it's an id game, and look where that got me. it runs much better on the 360. so big deal, the textures are 720p instead of 1080p and the lighting effects are not as elaborate. sure, i'd love 2160p textures, but if you can't get them to work, what's the point? if Carmack feels the way he's saying he feels really, he needs to adjust his policies accordingly and begin charging 50% less for the PC version because it's sold as-is, i.e broken.

or better yet, delay the game when it became apparent that the situation with the drivers is quite bad... like the Rage-specific ATI driver wouldn't work with other games, so maybe they might need abit of time to tweak Rage a little to work with the drivers which are currently available... or keep on badgering ATI and nVidia with the drivers and release the game only when they have a proper driver available

but then again, the only way to get the manufacturers to release better drivers seems to be getting them to react to something like this, after the users have been made to suffer through all these problems...

Did you uninstall your current Cats and then install the current AMD Rage update driver Ling? (Now BF3 integrated) I would also hold off on modifying the config until it stabilizes.

I will give them a try now. Thanks

I did yesterday uninstall the old cats to where i had a low resolution screen and nothing AMD/ATI on the system.

Hopefully these will fix some of the bugs.

Edit: Just tried them. It now does the same crashing. Black screen... crash!

Can't even get in game.

Double Edit: Decided to see if the drivers were being installed correctly but it looked like Windows was deciding on its own to use old signed display drivers, over the non signed ones with these latest packages. So i decided to select the inf manually and got the driver to install and now the game loads... 60fps but the texture streaming bug is still there but not as noticeable as before. So hopefully some more config tweaking will fix that and i can actually play the game!

New Rage perf driver? Sweet thanks. I get enough CTDs to kill my last brain cells, though I can still play the game.

Although the outdoor Dead City bit looked like trash, the rest of the game has looked great to me for the most part. I'm disappointed it wasn't handled better, but I'm still enjoying the game.

Agreed. From what I've seen, the prevailing idea is that games need to be made for consoles first before they're made for PC. As you said, Valve has shown that it can work even better if it's the other way around. And that's something that DICE agrees with. In fact, they said that it helps make the console version better (see here).

Rage's Autosave saves while transitioning to a new map, it wont autosave based on time period ( every 5 min )

Which im kinda glad for, alot of the autosave games end up saving my game seconds before i die anyway, or when im out of ammo.

I don't expect it to auto-save every x minutes but I do expect it to auto-save after each mission - which it currently does not.

Where can I get ammo? I keep going into missions with just my fists!

You can purchase it from people, I have only seen it laying around in the Mutant TV match so far that I can recall, I an only a few hours in though.

I guess I see what you guys are saying, but for me the PC version is BY FAR the better version of the game even still. There is no way anyone's copy of Rage on the 360 looks better than it does on my PC, none. I do have a fairly good rig though, and a Nvidia card, so yeah, I have not seen the issues people did. If I did see them, I am sure my tune would be a little different.

The issues most people were experincing were on AMD cards. Their OpenGL was terrible for RAGE but they have now released a new Developer Preview driver which work just fine with RAGE now. NVIDIA cards don't really have any issues, latest beta drivers are great for it, and you can improve your game by creating Rageconfig.conf in the base directory and adding a few lines of code, this will make use of 8K textures.

Entirely IMO, but that's how I like my save systems -- not at all intrusive and with quick save/save anywhere. Bioshock was the same way.

    • BATorrent 3.0.2 by Razvan Serea BATorrent is a lightweight, open-source BitTorrent client built with modern C++ and Qt 6, offering a clean, fast, and privacy-focused alternative to traditional torrent apps. It supports magnet links, .torrent files, resume data, sequential downloading, per-file priorities, and even imports from qBittorrent. Power users benefit from integrated RSS auto-download with regex filtering, duplicate detection, and automatic tracker lists from Stremio. Streaming is seamless thanks to auto-detected players like VLC and IINA. BATorrent includes robust VPN tools—interface binding, auto-detection for WireGuard-based services like Mullvad and NordLynx, kill switch, proxy support, and IP filtering. A full WebUI enables remote control, while integrations with Plex, Jellyfin, and Emby automate library updates. With themes, speed scheduling, system-tray alerts, and cross-platform support for Windows, Linux, and macOS, BATorrent delivers a polished, high-performance torrenting experience. BATorrent features: Core .torrent file and magnet link support Resume data — picks up where you left off after restart Import torrents from qBittorrent Create .torrent files from any file or folder Sequential download mode Per-file priority control (skip, low, normal, high) Seed ratio limits with auto-pause DHT, PEX, UPnP, NAT-PMP RSS Auto-Download Subscribe to RSS feeds — automatically download new torrents as they appear Regex filters — match only what you want (e.g. 1080p|720p, S01E\d+) Per-feed settings — custom save path, check interval (5–1440 min), enable/disable Auto-download — matched items are downloaded automatically in the background Supports magnet links, .torrent URLs, and tags Tray notifications when items are auto-downloaded Duplicate detection — never downloads the same item twice Stremio Stremio Addon System pre-installed — works out of the box Auto tracker list from ngosang/trackerslist Streaming Play while downloading — stream video files before the download is complete Supports mp4, mkv, avi, mov, wmv, flv, webm, m4v, ts Auto-detects installed players (VLC, IINA, system default) VPN & Privacy Interface binding — lock torrent traffic to a specific network interface (e.g. tun0) Auto VPN detection — identifies VPN interfaces (tun, tap, WireGuard, Mullvad, NordLynx, ProtonVPN) Kill switch — automatically pauses all torrents if the VPN interface drops Auto-resume — resumes only the torrents paused by the kill switch when VPN reconnects Proxy support — SOCKS5 and HTTP proxy with optional authentication IP filtering — load P2P blocklists to block unwanted IP ranges Protocol encryption (enabled / forced / disabled) WebUI Remote management — control torrents from any browser at http://localhost:8080 REST API with JSON responses Add torrents via magnet link or .torrent upload Pause, resume, remove torrents remotely View peers and files per torrent Dark theme matching the desktop app HTTP Basic Auth with SHA-256 password hashing Configurable port and remote access (localhost vs 0.0.0.0) Interface 3 themes: Dark, Light, Midnight (bat/vampire aesthetic) Real-time speed graph Detailed panel with tabs: General, Peers, Files, Trackers Filter bar: search by name, filter by state (Active, Downloading, Seeding, Paused, Finished) Drag & drop .torrent files and magnet links Drag & drop reorder in torrent list System tray with notifications (download complete, kill switch events, RSS auto-downloads) Splash screen with bat animation Bilingual: English and Portuguese (BR), auto-detected from system locale Bandwidth Scheduler Alternative speed limits — set different download/upload limits on a schedule Time range — configure active hours (e.g. 01:00 to 07:00), supports overnight ranges Per-day control — choose which days of the week the schedule applies Automatically switches between normal and alternative speeds Media Server Integration Plex — automatically trigger library scan when a download completes Jellyfin / Emby — same automatic library refresh via API Configure server URL and authentication token/key in Settings System Cross-platform: Windows, Linux, macOS Auto-shutdown — automatically shut down PC when all downloads complete (60s cancellable countdown) Auto-update system (AppImage on Linux, installer on Windows, DMG on macOS) CLI arguments: pass .torrent files or magnet: URIs directly Keyboard shortcuts: Space to toggle pause, Ctrl+A to select all, Ctrl+O to open BATorrent 3.0.2 changelog: Phone pairing & WebUI The browser WebUI was reskinned to match the desktop app — same dark palette, Inter font, flat surfaces, the real BATorrent logo (it was a random bat before), and a proper magnet icon. It now looks like the same product, not a separate dashboard. Pairing is one tap and zero typing: the generated WebUI password is now copyable, and the QR code carries the credentials — scanning it from your phone logs straight in (no typing the IP or password), then drops the credentials from the address bar. Search Two new providers: RuTor (CIS sources, no login, via a public TorAPI relay) and Torrents-CSV. Results are sorted by seeders (healthiest first), and each search now times out after 15 s so one dead provider can't hang the UI. Files & trackers Per-file priority is back: right-click a file in the detail panel to set Skip / Low / Normal / High. Rename an individual file inside a torrent (double-click or the file menu), separate from renaming the torrent. Remove a tracker from a torrent (the ✕ on a tracker row); adding was already there. Smart Paste on Ctrl+V — paste a magnet, a 40-char info-hash, or a .torrent URL straight from the clipboard and it's added immediately (text fields still paste text normally). Covers & titles Anime fansub naming ([Group] Title - NN) now resolves to the right show. Audio channel layouts in titles (DDP5.1, 7.1, …) are stripped so they don't pollute cover matching. Under the hood The legacy QWidget interface is gone. QML had been the only UI since 3.0.0 (reachable old code lived behind a hidden --legacy flag); with parity confirmed, the entire QWidget layer — main window, every dialog, the theme manager — was removed (~13,400 lines). The four restored actions above were features that backend already supported but the QML port had never wired. macOS: the WebUI password hash moved out of the keychain into app settings, so launching the app no longer pops a login-keychain password prompt on unsigned builds. The actual password still lives in the keychain. Cleanup: ~400 orphaned translation strings and a batch of dead code removed; internal duplication collapsed; an ARCHITECTURE.md added for contributors. Unit / security / memory tests and the ASan/UBSan/TSan sanitizers stay green.
