I have not had any issues like that on the game so far the only issues that i have seen is for the first couple minutes when i am playing all of the animation are horribly slow (like my computer cannot handle it or something) and then once a few minutes has passed the game will run perfect without issue (turned all the way up)

Maybe it is loading all the required files?

I've not noticed it normally myself, but I've had lag spikes where it became visible - so yeah, could be that. I would be surprised if that also appears when they're fully set up.

The delay was also there with SC2 during the first several months of its release, and it was bad. But nowadays it is pretty much unnoticeable, even with my 1-2mpbs connection. They've been working a lot to improve the server-side of things.

figures, people interested don't get it, those that aren't do.

Agreed, that sucks...! i have been baying for months to get an invite!!!! oh well! And now that they announced a delay... not a happy camper! :(

I think this is very likely. The load times for D3 are pretty quick, and I think it's because it loads only the bare necessities immediately. I like it - long load times are a pain, and I can survive starting off a bit slowly - often you'll be in town for a few minutes, sorting yourself out.

That's usually the way it goes! I registered with Blizzard fricking ages ago and no sign of an invite :|

Not wishing to rub it in, but I doubt length of time signed up has much effect other than meaning you're around for more waves of invites.Treat it as random luck, there's little point trying to work out *how* they're choosing, because you can't affect that.

No, you haven't been paying for months to get an invite. You've been registered for months for the *chance* to get an invite.

They haven't 'just' announced a delay. They announced a while ago that it wouldn't make Q4 2011, and that they're aiming for Q1 2012. That, afaik, still stands.

Read my post again buddy... i said Baying... not Paying...>! :) : verb : Shout loudly, typically to demand something.

It would have been great if Blizzard gave new beta participants a key to invite their friends. They did this with the StarCraft 2 beta so I don't know why they didn't do it this time. I'm guessing it has something to do with people selling beta keys.

    • If someone chooses to continue using SB and therefore goes through the manual intervention in the thread, afterwards the BSOD problem is gone. Whether they then re-enable the task doesn't matter, they're done, though on such machines it might pay to keep it disabled in case the next update (if there is a next) causes the same problem. OTOH, if someone disables SB in the BIOS, the problem is also gone. Incidentally, I noticed that this task exists even on machines that don't support SB. It's just installed across the board...and runs. Doing what on such machines is a little hazy.
