[update] New Xbox Dashboard preview now avaiable

Recommended Posts

Heh. And I just saw an advert on E4 showing using voice commands on Bing on the 360 to search for content with the new dashboard. Shame the Xbox can't do that yet :p

+1

I also seen the new Metro dashboard being demostrated on Channel 4. I was quite surprised when I seen it.

I don't get why some people are complaining so much, its a preview. Its not as if this is a final product they set a date and are now past that date, and we all get it sooner or later either way....remember this is the biggest dashboard update since NXE, there's bound to be a few issues to work out, and I'm sure last preview it was at lease a week or 2 from console ID submission to getting the update...

Last couple updates I've previewed were barely a week from sign-up on the connect page.

I can't remember exactly, you could be right, non the less this is a much bigger update, and since we have no date we're expecting it on what's the fuss about.

not really been following this thread, nor have i turned my xbox on since entering the code.

what is the issue?

This preview was announced October 11th and all indications pointed to a "very soon" release. Here we are, nearly a month later, a week removed from eventual console registration, and we get an announcement for an announcement. It's been a slow moving process, hardly "very soon." Perhaps the very soon was for information, not the actual release, but personally, the slowness of communication and progress has been frustrating.

Shouldn't you be playing new games, working, socialising rather than wondering when a dashboard update will be out. One day you will turn on your Xbox and be prompted to update. Until then, why even think about it.

I guess you've never anticipated the release of anything. How sad and unfortunate :(

I'd rather ironically advise people to do these things by spending my day posting anonymously to internet message boards.

Quoted for one of the least thought out posts on this forum...in ages.

He has a point. There's over 100 posts bitching about the fact that it's been a while since people signed up. "When it ships" is far better than just rushing things out and bricking consoles. It's a preview, not a beta, nor an alpha.

Your point is moot and far more ironic than his.

Well, we can almost guarantee the dashboard won't be a november release. Guess i'll pickup MW3 this afternoon to hold over until we get the update.

Also, does anyone know if we will be able to download the wp7 integration app? would be cool to be able to test that as well.

FAQ: WHAT ABOUT THE PREVIEW PROGRAM!?!?!?!!?!??!?

A: Patience my friends. Patience. #Soon

    • BTW DXVK is also available on Windows and offers similar benefits like on Linux when it comes to performance, at least in some titles. The Raceroom racing sim for example even offers DXVK as one of its officially supported options and it can achieve ridiculous improvements in certain situations, like quite literally doubling (or more) the framerates
    • Nvidia GeForce NOW to support 18 more games in June, including Gothic 1 Remake by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The start of a new month means Nvidia is also preparing a whole month of additions to its GeForce NOW supported games list. The cloud gaming platform received its first update of June today, revealing games like Jurassic World Evolution 3 and Gothic 1 Remake for the service, while at the same time revealing what's incoming in the next few weeks too. Here are the games joining GeForce NOW's supported list this week: Jurassic World Evolution 3 (New release on Xbox, available on Game Pass) Fatekeeper (New release on Steam, available June 2) House Flipper Remastered Collection (New release on Steam, available June 4) Pro Cycling Manager 26 (New release on Steam, available June 4) GOALS (New release on Steam, available June 4) Gothic 1 Remake (New release on Steam, available June 5) NTE: Neverness to Everness (Launcher) The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition (Steam and Xbox, available on Game Pass) Tomb Raider I-III Remastered (Epic Games Store) XCOM: Enemy Unknown (Steam) Nvidia also plans to add support for these games during the rest of June, though more titles will probably land as weeks go by too: STARSEEKER: Astroneer Expeditions (New release on Steam, June 11) SpaceCraft (New release on Steam, June 11) Denshattack! (New release on Steam and Xbox, available on Game Pass, June 17) The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales (New release on Steam, June 18) Dark Scrolls (New release on Steam, June 22) Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains (New release on Steam and Ubisoft, June 30) Farever (Steam) FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves (Steam) Keep in mind that, unlike subscription services like Game Pass or EA Play, a copy of a game must be owned by the GeForce NOW member (or at least have a license via PC Game Pass) to start playing via Nvidia's cloud servers. There is also a limit to how many hours subscribers can use the service per month.
