Now that Windows 8 has come out, I have found myself absorbing all the love that seeps from the Metro Tiles. I have found myself looking between all the stuff I have done with Android over the past 3 years and have been wondering things like: where did this come from, when did I do this, why is my Google account associated with this, etc. I then look over and see my new Windows phone, with its cloud integration and all. As I peer at the two, I discover that my Windows stuff is all better contained and better organized. I have come to quick decision that I should abandon my new friend and return to my old friend. The one with the better knowledge, understanding, and more experience. So, what do you guys think you are going to do?

Seeing how Googly spies you by looking at your email and tracking everything you are doing, I'll just stick to Windows ;)

I'm going to stay with Windows 7, and my android phone.

I'm not creative enough to come up with a real comment.

What if it be that they accept the change and move on to adapt to it?

Then they realize the circumstances imploring this change and adapt to survive through it's challenges, for all it may bring them, could end them.

Sadly there are still people that think that. (I'm assuming that was sarcasm though because of the wink.)

Anyway I'll play with Win8 some more but so far it looks like I'll be sticking with Win7 and skipping Win8 just as I skipped Vista. I'll also be sticking with my Android phone until it's either time to upgrade or I win a Windows phone. Pretty happy with my Android phone atm.

How do you think google stays a-float? That's how they make money.

If they didn't do that, they'd be bankrupt.

Its the willed ignorance of people such as these that just kills me. I have sat down and read Google's new "privacy" terms. I get that they are a company, and that they have no care as to what goes on in my email, however it is still MY email and they need to keep their huge hands off of it.

This is not the reason though that I am going to switch to Microsoft. I am doing it because I think Microsoft has finally stepped out of the corner and shook off the cobwebs, but did it this time without falling over and making a fool of themselves. Not to mention that they also, as I stated in my original post, have seemed to pull things together better than Google is doing.

I'm so happy with my Windows Phone, Xbox, Office 365, and Windows 7, it's funny to think that just a year ago I used nothing but Apple. Microsoft has really come a long way over the past few years. They are finally starting to realize the need for consistency and integration across all of its product lines. I'm very excited about Windows 8 for these reasons.

With that said, competition is great, because we get to see Microsoft at their best.

So you two honestly think that Google reads your emails? That's pretty shocking. I would hope by now people would have learned that there isn't some guy or several guys over at Google that sit there and read your email. Nobody at Google is reading your email. It's all automated and it's just a more sophisticated way of recognizing keywords and targeting advertisements based on those words. Believe me Random_Guy_001 at Google isn't reading your top secret correspondence with your friends, your porn subscription confirmation emails, or any of that. If you actually read anything about Google you'd know that. Actually if you read their "new" privacy policy you'd know that the new privacy policy just allows them to share data across their own network and nothing really changes for you as a user other than your ads become more relevant (assuming you're not using AdBlock.)

Who said change for the sake of change? How about change because it's legitimately better than what google has to offer? I know it's easy to just keep beating the long dead horse because it's what everyone is doing and assuming MS products are crap, but it's just not true.

I actually caved and downloaded Chrome the other day because Words With Friends refuses to load very often for me with IE9 and I've been surprised at how not great it is given the hype for it. I find IE9 to be faster for most of the sites I visit. I was expecting a night and day difference between the two with Chrome allegedly being much better but I can't say I'm inclined to make Chrome my default browser.

I currently have an android phone and a laptop running the Windows 8 CP. I use Microsoft services primarily and honestly, android isn't for me. Google makes me uncomfortable as a whole (regardless of claims as to whether or not Google is playing big brother), and I've been really impressed with how well the metro interface works with tablets and phones. My next phone is definitely going to be a Lumia 900.

I hope that is sarcasm or this is just a stupid ignorant post. Google makes the majority of its money from ads. This is well known and well documented. As far as reading emails? Yea, they don't do that either.

As far as what I am going to do...no one company has everything I want. So I will continue with a mix of MS and Google products for now.

windows 8 have started to do that if you didn't realize!!

I will stick with Google(online services) and MS for OS...

No, phone manufacturers will not scrap Android because of Google's privacy changes. And Google's privacy changes are not that big of a deal a lot of people are making it out to be and we shall see what the FED does since they are looking in to it. All Google is doing is combining all your with their services which is already available separate with their services. You still control what happens to your data.

Well yes, we can't blame Google directly because Google isn't a real living thing... The point is the data is stored there and they have access to it and can read it easily enough. Do they do it? Hell if I know. I'm not God so I can't tell you for certain what another person is doing...

People put their trust in companies to keep their data private. Yes, there is no telling if Google is actually reading your email or not but then again, the same thing can be said about any other company. But if I were to bet, I am sure they are not doing so as well as MS isnt doing so.

then how about building ur own email server if you are too concerned???

how about not using a phone because ur wireless provider know who u are calling and what u are talking and all ur sms..

how about not going to work because the company u work have your info and the login credential to the network!!!

hey i guess u registered at neowin with fake email because Neowin have access to the email id and they might register to spam sites /s
