if all you have to complain about is it's lack of cd ripping you have problems.

what's the point to paying??  are they using the fruenhoffer codec or something?  can't they just use a free codec, and make it free still?

No, because the MP3 file format is still under a patent. Even though there are free encoders out there (e.g. LAME) it still costs money if you want to distribute it with your software legally.

anyone read the stuff about nullsoft tracking installs?  i dont know for a fact that this is true... but it's speculated... doesnt conern anyone?
We'll see what ZoneAlarm has to say about that. Surely, if Winamp doesn't connect to the Internet, then Nullsoft can't track it.

 wtf, yes it will, you just won't be able to burn or rip without purchasing it, good god. Atleast read before flipping out. Don't make me get the straight jacket.

Who uses winamp to burn or rip anyways? only n00bs.

not true.

LAME is totally free and can be legally distributed without any problems.

they are charging for these "extra" features, which makes it halfassed player.

i'm not saying i want those features or they will be usefull to me

but the fact that they are started to do this SUCKS BIG TIME.

it means that if not enough people will be registering they will begin to put different nags into winamp so annoy people so they would reg.

seethru, educate your stupid and know better who you are talking to, or i'll open a can of whoopass on you beyond anything you ever experienced before

Why don't you go read up on your patent laws.

    • This is needed! Good to see them working on it. My solution up until now at work is to hide all MY folders, showing only the shortcuts, but linking my personal folders to the corresponding Libraries. Having this exposed in the Navigation pane of File Explorer means that I have easy nested access to my stuff, as well as all the shortcuts under the OneDrive folder when needed, often open as I only have about 10 or so linked sources.
