Except he has his viewpoint and you have yours. And I agree with him. I believe Windows is becoming more restrictive, also. They're already trying to limit how we use Windows and make it more "generic". If they really wanted to, they could push Intel into developing something on x86 instead of ARM that would be equal in terms of power and performance, but they like the idea of making apps available ONLY in an App Store. Of course there will be Pro versions, but they also cost a LOT more. I'm glad someone is standing up for people instead of just acting like sheep.

Java has a badly designed type system which forced the existence primitive types to avoid bad performance, which cause all kind of problems. It also has no support for events, no first-class functions, no type inference for variables, no overloadable operators, some questionable design decisions concerning the == operator, and so on. Heck, it doesn't even have static classes. And its standard library is rather weird - java.util is a PHP-like kitchen sink. And the versioning system...ugh.

Yes, there are worse languages. But that doesn't make Java good.

These series of articles have clearly catered more to emotion than facts. I gave an example of an enterprise making a bad decision.... like you are in defending java when it's terribly flawed.

Just becuase a company uses it and "gets along fine" with it doesn't mean it's good.

they may say they are getting along fine with it to please shareholders or whatever when they really might hate it...

Wow this is all just silly to me. Really it is his program that he wrote. If he feels he does not want to certify it good. so what. Will it stop anyone from installing it on a new machine,...no... Anyone can still play it. He can always just make it for linux and see what comes from that.
