They used to, but that's changing (with exception to games like Borderlands 2)... console ports have become terrible.

Ironic, since Borderlands 2 is practically the console version with some extra tweaks.

I played Revelations on PC, it was nowhere near a console port.

My theory on why the PC ports are always a month or so out, especially being Ubisoft, who we know recently got rid of their terrible DRM, is because: The people who own both a PC and Xbox/PS3 will more than likely buy it on their console, due to sheer impatience, thereby ruling out any chance of piracy for the PC. Honestly, it isn't a bad business move, and I am betting anything that is why they do it.

People would be less inclined to pirate their games if didn't resort to methods such as crappy DRM (that, as you said, they dropped) or delayed releases. It makes them look bad as a company, which lowers the amount of people willing to pay them for a product.

A very large majority of people who are going to pirate the game are not going to buy it on a console to play it now, they will wait until the PC version releases and then pirate it. Ubisoft might as well release it at the same time as the console version.....delaying the release is hardly going to affect (if at all) the amount of piracy that happens.

The freedom edition just arrived. Thank god for me being impatient. Saw the van pull up outside and take the package to a neighbours. Idiots. It has the number clearly printed on the box.

F***ing retards, I swear. That pretty much spoils and ruins the "big twist" in the beginning of the game. That p***es me off. I can't help but read every character's biography.

Just finished it. Was good till about halfway and then I just got bored. I finished it anyways but I stopped trying to 100% each mission and eventually stopped caring about the game. I finished it cause I didn't want another half done game like dead island.

I've seen a lot of people complaining online that it is too "difficult" to get money in this game. My brother even whines about it.

I'm 100% sure the game shows you how to use the Stockpile/Crafting/Trading system via convoys. Digging around in that for more than 5 minutes should give you the idea of how it is used, at least it did for me. After doing naval missions and upgrading your homestead, of course, you will allow yourself to make more money. Specifically, Naval Convoys rather than land.

Anyway, I make around ?60,000 every half hour or so I actively bother with it. I've pretty much stopped because I have a ridiculous amount of money. Just send off all of your convoys with a ton of pelts. Wolf, Beaver, and Bear pelts are the best. Here is an example of one Naval Convoy load with Bear and Beaver Pelts that I send out:

(The 0% tax is from completing all of the forts in game. The lowered risk is from doing Naval mission routes.)

I do agree with some reviews though. Connor is a bore. Maybe because we were spoilt before with Ezio.

I don't think Connor is a bore per-say I think the game writing and passage of time is what is making it lackluster. It seems like after every sequence you see (not really a big spoiler, but just in case people don't want to know this information yet)

"6 months later," and this happens about 4 or 5 times. So it is hard to build a connection with the character, when you don't get to see the passage of time. This game starts at 1755, and in the end is at 1786 I believe. 31 Years crammed into 20 hours of story-gameplay makes it hard to build anything. I like Connor, though, nowhere near as much as Altair, and Ezio. He is never sure of anything he does, and acts on emotions rather than being smart like our past characters. He does seem disconnected at times.

The end ****ed me off though. That was the lamest ending of any of the games. All the build up throughout the game with Juno, and it ends like that. It makes me upset about the rest of the games. The worst part was at the Abstergo facility. You basically just go in, and completely walk over what was supposed to be this big scary company that had you hiding in a cave for god's sake and had you running all over the world to get away from them... Then you waltz back into the building where it all started, and mow everyone down without a hiccup. That was the worst writing I have seen yet. The game feels so rushed, especially with the ridiculous amount of bugs in the game. But the fact that is shines through on the storytelling, this franchises supposed strong point, just let me down so bad.

I don't know if there will be another game after this. I am hoping not though. This feels like Mass Effect 3; the ending needs a damn rewrite, then just cap the series off and be done with it. The ending sequence was about 5 minutes. Considering we have been following Desmond spanning 5 games, I expected something more, a lot more.

Of course, Ubisoft throws you back in the Animus with absolutely no explanation (and in this case, an explanation is impossible). But first, 17 minutes of credits.

Finished the game and i can't believe i actually managed to finish it. The game was buggy, some missions were ridiculous, i would just randomly fail them for no reason. The supposed side missions were rubbish. I was hoping for more in depth side missions that flesh out the era a bit more and make Connor more likeable. Ok i admit towards the end he did grow on me but up until then, i could care less about him.

The worst thing about this game is the ending.

It felt rushed, it was like they spent all the time developing the systems that they forgot about the story. The ending for Desmond was definitive and i had a feeling it was going to end that way but i hoped there would be some smart writing like earlier games that ended his arc but gave you a big idea where the story is going next. It only hints that Juno is going to be involved.

The fighting system while they said it was completely redesigned. It was almost the same as other games except the collision detection and camera are worse. Which ultimately made it a chore sometimes.

I love the AC series but this game was a massive let down and not even close to game of the year. I would even put it close to worst game of the year, mainly because of how much i loved the other games. While Revelations was regarded a weak, i still thought it was good. Interesting story and it worked.

They said ages ago that they know where the story is going and how Desmond's story ends, seriously is this how they wanted his story to end. Past games at the end of each game i had a load of questions and was interested where it was going next. Now i really could care less.

The ability to be thrown back in the Animus is tied to the multiplayer, sort of.  You're no longer Desmond living his ancestory, his own memories have been downloaded by Abstergo and hacked so that anyone can play.

I absolutely hate the chase sequence at the end of the game. Just wanted to complain, good day all :)

I agree, i wanted to throw my controller so much. It also got to the point where i considered switching the game off and not playing it again. The game had pi**ed me off enough to that point but this took the biscuit.

I wish i did because the ending was well... and people complained about Mass Effect 3.

    • But the reality is it will work for people's needs, and they don't care about the technology that makes it. Clearly not everyone's needs, but that low end space where personal laptops were only used to type emails, watch content and browse websites, but they didn't want to do that on a small screen device. Heck, writing that out I can now see the connection and reason it'll do so well. Apple is about experience. If the experience is bad, they don't release it. Low end Windows laptop manufacturers up until this point have not taken that into consideration ever before, so slow laggy usage with brittle slimey plastic shells were common. I hope that the low end space at least creates better physical products that last a bit longer, and if Microsoft get their act together, they could also have a solid OS on such low end hardware that would actually make the experience work for what the hardware was intended for. The fact that the CPU is a "cellphone", sorry mobile phone processor is irrelevant. It's about the experience, and so far, that sounds quite solid.
    • Hello, Bonjour is Apple's implementation of a multicast-DNS service, which allows devices running Apple's software and/or hardware to find each other on your local network.  I believe the Windows version was last updated around 2010.
