One of the articles linked above your post says he left their bodies in his basement for a day before police discovered them. That doesn't help his self-defense case...

Even said he asked the neighbour to recommend a ' good lawyer' before the police were even called..and people are defending this guy

Typical response by certain individuals. It says to me F you, if you're attacked you' SOL. Those that want to defend themselves are just blood thirsty violence filled heathens.. Call me what you wish but im not going to bend over and take it..

But you seem to forget this guy is charged with two counts of second-degree murder...It's just an odd thing to see people supporting a man charged with that.

My wife and I have pistol carry permits & combat training, as well as being hunting archers, and our 14 year old is skilled with both bow & shotgun.

If someone breaks into our domicile, especially at night (a legal distinction here makes that a higher grade felony) they're VERY likely to end up dead. If one flees the scene the defender can also fire to prevent their escape & do a citizens arrest (Fleeing Felon Rule.)

Essentially, under Michigan law if you feel threatened a robber is fair game, they may as well bend over & kiss their ass goodbye, and if you do shoot one you have civil immunity - neither he or his relatives can sue you.

wait...can we call this Minnesota Style?

The guy needs to go to jail for what he did. period. The kids deserved to be shot dead. period.

You'd better tell the police then who've charged him with murder that as it seems they and the law disagree with you.

I'm not sure I agree with that. I can see defending your place but when someone is fleeing that is a different set of circumstances. However, Michigan, like any other state, has to make laws as they see fit.

So here's the $64k question... do you think people like him should be allowed to own guns?

I think you can't play thought police and tell everyone they can't have something because someone does something stupid with it. We're talking millions and millions and millions of people and a few F up and you want to tell all the rest of the millions of people that have never committed a crime to give up their property? Personally I make sure I obey the law to the fullest because I don't want my second amendment right taken from me. But to have someone take my property away from me because of what some fool did that I don't approve of, that's just wrong. Essentially telling everyone that you can't be trusted..

I think felons and the mentally unstable shouldnt own them and I think illegal drug users shouldnt own them as well. All of those people are already unable to purchase a firearm by law. I think mental health records should be made more available. But

I don't think everyone should be subjected to mental health screens.

Wha?

If people have a mental disorder they were diagnosed then they're not allowed to own a firearm. But making everyone take a screen before buying a firearm opens up a can of worms, the government could make anything a mental illness and make it impossible to own a firearm based on their evaluation.

The kind of sick comments being made in this thread are a shining testament to why I find it impossible to trust so called "sensible" gun owners. Reality is US culture places an unhealthy obsession upon violence and retribution.

Yes, it is, and I LOVE it.

Yes, do I win 64k$ now? Nice avatar btw.

Way to skirt the issue there pal, with evasiveness like that you should consider running for office. I hear politics is really kind to people that can waffle without actually saying anything ;) I think you've proven my point though, there's nothing "sensible" about you, or most gun nuts for that matter, you just want guns for everyone regardless of how unstable and dangerous they are.

No, but I think you for completely proving my point :D

Yeah, it's much more reasonable to just let unstable people go and clean the corpses up as they go

Nope I would like the see the laws we have on the books now enforced better. If the government can't enforce the laws thats on the books now then how the hell are they going to enforce new ones? You know what, this discussion is over because you can't hold a discussion without insulting me and others like me.

Can't stand such takes as Spotify's: "Spotify's CEO recently pushed back against listeners who call AI music "slop," urging people to stop using the term and instead embrace the creative potential of AI music."

    • Microsoft Teams gets smarter at spotting sneaky meeting bots by Usama Jawad Microsoft Teams is set to receive a couple of new features soon, including a dedicated Recap app and a rather controversial location tracking functionality. The Redmond tech giant has also explained how it has made online communication and collaboration a lot more performant this year. Now, the company has detailed more secure bot admission mechanisms, as first reported by us in March 2026, and now available in Teams. As the use of AI has expanded across enterprise environments, Microsoft has begun allowing users to integrate bots into their meetings for various tasks, such as note-taking. While this has a tangible productivity benefit for users, Microsoft has highlighted how misconfiguration has allowed bots to join meetings that they shouldn't. This has created security and privacy risks, which Microsoft is now combating using a new Teams admin policy that allows organizers to control how external bots access meetings. Admins can leverage a policy called Manage external bots and their access to meetings. The default configuration is "When detected, require approval before joining", which places detected bots in a lobby before they are explicitly admitted into the meeting. The other option disables the experience. Microsoft has also requested admins to only allow organizers and co-organizers to manage access to a meeting, so that other people don't randomly allow bots into meetings. Teams will now be able to leverage infrastructure signals to intelligently detect and distinguish between bots and humans. Microsoft will soon also trial a registration experience for independent software vendors (ISVs) to build a system that registers a bot with Microsoft, so it is marked as a "known" bot. Teams will also categorize bots as trusted and suspected threats so that organizers can quickly identify which bots they want to allow into a meeting. Additional safeguards to block accidental admission of a bot into a meeting include: No one-click Admit option for identified bots Confirmation prompts when admitting participants that include bots Warnings when organizers choose Admit all, and bots are included Microsoft has begun rolling out this experience, and it will be retiring the current CAPTCHA verification implementation. In the future, the company plans to roll out new capabilities like allow-lists, organization-wide policies, admin reports, audit logs, and more granular controls.
    • With the current hardware prices Microsoft should lift the restriction. Then if you have the correct TPM then allow you to use X feature, if you don't have the correct TPM then don't but still actually let you run windows. 11. With a disclaimer during install that X features would be unavailable.
