Yes I can see the conversation going a bit like this

Pit Wall - Kimi, Alonso is coming up behind you, he's faster than you.

Kimi - Leave me alone I know what i'm doing

2 Laps later

Pit Wall - Kimi, Alonso is stuck behind you.

Kimi - **** off, stop bothering me, I'm driving.

Alonso vs R?ikk?nen in one team can potentially be as interesting as Prost vs Senna at McLaren in 1988/1989. I'm looking forward to their battles next year.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that when the announcement came out. :)

That would also require Ferrari to get their acts together and give them a good enough car, an eventuality I am at this time sceptical of.

Glad they took that silly chicane out, it strung out the cars and made overtaking incredibly difficult. Hopefully this will promote better action.

Agreed, it isn't like the track needed it. There are still some tricky areas even with the chicane removed.

A more conservative selection will be used at the Korea and Suzuka circuits, whereas a softer combination will be used in India.

The hard tyre will not be taken to the Indian Grand Prix for the first time since the race was added to the calendar in 2011. Teams will have the soft and medium tyres for that race.

At Suzuka teams will have the two hardest tyres available ? medium and hard. At Korea ? as in Singapore this weekend ? the medium will be used alongside the super-soft tyre.

Not surprised they changed the tyre allocations for Suzuka, probably a reaction to the problems at Silverstone. Unfortunately however it also makes it more likely that race will probably be red bull dominated again.

Just read through Top Gear's recent interview with Taki Inoue. And now I'm wishing most of today's drivers were like him. Personality-wise, obviously not talent-wise. :P http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/tg-meets-taki-inoue-2013-09-17

    • Absolutely NOBODY has suggested such a conclusion. I am affirming the sober reality check that AV2's overall market adoption will take longer than AV1's adoption rate -- which, by the way, is the whole point of the article! While PCI-SIG is productive (on paper), other WGs have created all sorts of confusing progress plans that consumers have tuned-out of their improvements... HTML/W3C, USB, HDMI, BT, WIFI (ieee802.11) as a few other groups where spec naming conventions, split progress paths, overlapping ambitions... I'm not critiquing the AV specs group; I'm simply affirming that adoption for AV2 faces headwinds beyond the macroeconomics of it all.
