While I hold no opinion on whether the Sandy Hook shooting was a fakery or not, I find it very interesting how people tend to react to sitatuions where the validity of mainstream media, or even governmental, reports are questioned.

When did it become a bad thing to question what the media or the government says / does? To quote a Canadian Politician, "Why is patriotism thought to be blind loyalty to the government and the politicians who run it, rather than loyalty to the principles of liberty and support for the people? Real patriotism is a willingness to challenge the government when it?s wrong." While he is refering to politics, I believe the sentiment rings true through many other aspects of life as well.

If you just sit there and blindly accept whatever the government or media throws at you, how long will it take, how many lies will it take, how many questionable acts will it take before you wake up and realise that not everyone is impartial, media mogul or otherwise. Everyone has their own agenda and will do what they can to push it.

Questioning whether the Sandy Hook incedent really did happen is not something we should ignore. Yes, it is a tragic event, real or not, but does that mean we should blindly accept it as true? Sitting back and being complacent with whatever is thrown at you is exactly what those who seek to decieve and gain power want the masses to do.

Stand back from the situation, take in the evidence, and decide for yourself what happened. Don't let another person be the sole source of information. Look for proof and question any holes in the story. If someone comes at you with evidence of the contrary, don't just brush it off because it doesn't match up with the currently held belief. If we all did that, we would still be back in the stone age all worshiping the deities of the first organised religions.

No one is telling anyone to just blindly accept the news/media/etc. The problem comes into play when some nutjobs put together these homemade youtube videos telling that the whole shooting was staged, and those people believe that over the news.

I honestly cannot believe that there are that many people out there questioning the shooting but I am not going to lose any sleep over it.

Plus it's extremely disrespectful to the families of those victims. Knowing it was that mental kid puts closure to the story. When these nutjobs make up stories and try to get people riled up, it re-opens the book and simply causes those families to suffer more.

The hippies must have gotten tired of spreading 9/11 rumorsand needed something fresh. They just need to grow up and do something productive with their lives.

That's gun nuts for you, they are so paranoid that the government is trying to take away their weapons they are willing to dream up some ridiculous conspiracy theory.

These are the kind of people who are mentally legal to own guns.

Is it the fact that they are questioning what the media is telling them that makes them crazy or something else? What makes their individual views any less credible then the mass media sources?

And so because it is offensive and/or disrespectful we shouldn't talk about it? Where is the line between things we should question and things we should just accept as true? I'm fairly sure you'll agree with me that that line is defined by the evidence from all sources, not just one.

I would also like to point out that progress only happens when people question the status quo and try to find better answers and solutions, not by stagnating with current ideas and views. If "something productive" means working 9-5 at a job where you have no impact on the future of society, and for some reason does not include questioning the media or government, then we are all in trouble.

There is no proof of anything though. Just because the media doesn't have every little detail of how it went down, doesn't mean there is some conspiracy behind it.

Is the moon a lie? Was 9/11 a cover-up? All of those conspiracies are ridiculous and have no proof of validity.

The moon is not a lie. I for one have been to the moon... I was abducted by green aliens... and while there, I saw the moon base we built.

Hell yeah 9'11 was a cover up! Bombs were planted at the bottom of the buildings. How else would they fall like that?

Retarded statement is retarded, they didn't fall from the bottom up, they fell from the top down. They fell because the planes hit in the upper middle part of the building, the fires got so hot they weakened strength the metal. The weight of the upper floors was to much for the weakened metal and as the top began to fall and the over all weight was to much for the rest of the building to support, given the integrity of the building could no longer support the top floors. Hence why the building collapsed from the top down and not the bottom up as you just suggested.

This coming from a demolition worker. That is the dumbest thing i heard all day. Your making me believe that you have a degree in everything. Demolition workers say different . Retarded neowin members these days

Who exactly is the demolition worker you are speaking of? Maybe you can explain how bombs at the bottom of the tower make the top of the build fall first? Id love to heard this genius answer of yours.

South Tower collapse, it doesn't take a genius to see it falling from the top down.

Maybe your expertise can dispute this explantion

Instead of crying each time your challenged, why don't you start trying to counter. When all you do is whine, it goes a long way to show how weak your argument is.

Don't bother trying to bring scientific fact into this thread, people like freak180s heads will explode because their stupid theory which was based off of nonsense to begin with has been disputed.

Since no one has really taken the time to debunk this here you go:

First off I want to note - the main contributor of information in this video and around this conspiracy is Alex Jones (Notice the Info Wars clips everywhere including the opening frames). He is, in my opinion, a paranoid nutjob, as was pretty evident by his

- seriously skip to 3 minutes in and tell me this guy is a credible person. (My intent here is not ad hominem, just wanted to give some context as to the presenters of these "facts" and their origins) Now that that's out of the way let's look at the content of the video...

Theory 1: The first thing the video tries to allege is that there is a second shooter. They love to grab early media footage and then use that as "evidence" of their claims, as if the media's first reporting is somehow golden. Odd that conspiracy theorists distrust the media, then turn around and use its raw reporting claims as evidence. Anyway, you can easily google and figure out who the guy in the woods was.

He is the father of a student there and the athletic director at the highschool. He was on his way to the school to help make gingerbread houses with 1st graders when he heard the shots. He was unarmed, arrested, detained, questioned, and let go. The story of the guy in the woods was a dead end, so the media dropped it. That is the problem with the 24 hour news cycle, they will report any lead they get before sorting out facts. However, this is hardly evidence of a conspiracy.

The video even makes the ridiculous claim that since the guy was sitting in the FRONT of the police car, that he must have some "crazy" credentials. Yeah, what is more likely...that this guy was a concerned father or that he was a man with some "crazy" credentials on a black ops mission to shoot up a school but he just didn't have the skills to properly vacate, and so he ended up getting himself captured by lowly local law enforcement, AND broadcast on national tv, potentially exposing his super secret black op? C'mon.

Theory 2: The gun discrepancy. This can be chalked up to contradictory reporting, which is going to happen when the media competes with itself to be the first one to break any new details. There have already been articles discussing these discrepancies. What is known for sure is he carried at least 2 handguns into the school and had a shotgun in his car. The discrepancies come in when talking about the other weapons, some sources claim it was a Bushmaster AR-15, others claim it was 2 additional pistols and the AR was left in the trunk with the shotgun. The video just merges all of these conflicting reports to say how the story doesn't make sense. This isn't evidence of a conspiracy, just terrible reporting and fact checking.

Theory 3: The nurse is fake and does not exist. This is completely false, and has been debunked with evidence:

Theory 4: The laughing/crying father. This means absolutely nothing. No one can judge how a father copes with the loss of his daughter, and it's offensive that people are criticizing him for it. I have been to several funerals, I have witnessed family members and friends switch in and out of laughter and tears. They think of memories of the one they lost, they tell stories, they think of their loved one, they laugh, and they cry. People grieve in different ways and we have no idea what's going through this mans mind. Maybe he was thinking of his daughters smile as she woke up every day, and it made him smile, then he was told he's about to go live, so he snapped back to reality. To me it does not seem right to criticize his reaction here, and it's not evidence of a conspiracy.

Theory 5: Emillie Parker is not dead. This is the most absurd thing I have seen so far in the video. The video alleges not only that the girl is not dead, but that the parents were so stupid they brought out the wrong sister for the photo op. What? Do people honestly believe that? https://www.youtube....h?v=DTaC580hfPo It's a picture of her sister. Obviously. They look alike because, you know, they're sister's. This guy uses the same photoshop trick as the conspiracy video and gets the same effect.

Theory 6: One piece of footage of the crime scene does not show many ambulances and shows no children. The author claims this means this was all staged. He goes on to say that only one ambulance was there the whole time and they quickly blocked off all exits. The problem with this is twofold. Firstly, there are several pictures of multiple ambulances (here are a few):

http://imgur.com/hb6kZ,XGWSd,erEJG

http://www.politico....lled-85094.html

Secondly, this footage that the videos author is commenting on looks to be taken well after the shooting took place, which easily explains why there aren't a bunch of ambulances around and no one is panicking anymore. A fellow redditor describes here that based on the position of the sun in the sky, this video was shot well in the afternoon, 6-7 hours after the shooting took place. More things taken out of context because they fit the authors narrative.

Theory 7: Time stamps on the webpage set up for donations state the page was created before the shootings took place. Google search results do not always accurately reflect the date the content was published. Example) Here is a date restrictive search of sandy hook, listing all articles that appear to be published before the shooting took place. Well damn, according to google this there are articles and videos from these dates talking about the shooting: Jan 14, 2012 , Jun 19, 2012 , Sept 16, 2012 ..well before the shooting took place. Debunked.

Addition: People keep bringing up the facebook page that was made prior to the shooting. The creator of the page said they had made an unrelated page previously, it had no fans in it. After the shootings took place, she renamed the page to be a memorial for one of the victims. This changed the URL, but kept the original creation date of the group. Many claim this is not possible or this is not how facebook works. Here is proof that it is: http://imgur.com/a/U6wWH

Theory 8: There was a planned FEMA meeting scheduled 20 minutes from the time of the shooting which helped slow down the response time of first responders.(Added due to popular demand). I went to the emergency services website for CT to investigate this. This class is offered regularly. It was offered on 11/17, 11/27, 12/3, 12/6, 12/14, and 12/17

In fact, digging a little deeper you can see they have had training classes like these for a long time, such as this one way back on 4/2/2012 called Emergency Planning for Schools (2 day course):

http://www.ct.gov/de...BCCCDCE83CDCACA

These tragedies have been happening for awhile, and so has training people to respond to them. Debunked.

Theory 9: "Sandy Hook Conspiracy Actress"... this picture has been making the rounds: http://imgur.com/r/conspiracy/5sdWN it's grainy and taken from a single angle (probably because the intent is to deceive) ... some quick digging and higher quality pictures shows these are clearly 2 different people: http://i.imgur.com/f4AC8.jpg

Other stuff: The people that made this video clearly have their own agenda, which is why they keep bringing up 9/11 and the London bombings (two completely unrelated events). Any time a large, tragic event occurs, many of these conspiracy theorists do their best to gather all of the media reports, then pick and choose to take the media out of context and create their own crazy conspiracy driven narrative for the events that took place. If you are skeptical of this video, you should be. It's crap.

Edit: Looks like Anderson Cooper just did a piece on this hoax and how it's bogus (he interviewed several of the parents). It's worth checking out if you are somehow still not convinced.

STOP IT! STOP DEBUNKING MY CONSPIRACY!!11 IN THE NAME OF JESUS I COMMAND YOU!!!11

i always seem to be the middleman in situations...

i, unfortunately, got into this topic yesterday by a friend who insists that there's a conspiracy. he's been forwarding information and youtube videos. i try to watch them w/ an open mind. i want to see what people are claiming before simply writing it all off as nutty. id also agree with people that a LOT of the supposed evidence is probably just a situation where the media couldnt get their facts straight in all the chaos.

to those posting in this topic - why not just look at the "evidence" being presented, then simply debunk it with forethought, and rationale, instead of malice? And to those presenting the "evidence," why dont you present facts instead of speculation? All the stuff about illuminati and sacrifices is merely fun speculation. it's creating fun drama where there isnt any. pretend you were in court trying to prove it instead of presenting speculation.

All this bickering in this thread only adds fuel to the fire. you'll never change someone's mind about a topic with bickering and "youre wrong" attitudes.

Fun? I find nothing amusing about these types of callous conspiracies perpetuated by people whose arguments are so basically flawed you'd wonder how anyone, anywhere could believe them at all.

Dealing with conspiracies theorists is damn near impossible. Facts, evidence, proof, and basic logic all take a back-seat to fear, paranoia and arrogant ideas of superiority. Consider some of the most enduring conspiracy theories, they have long been debunked, over and over again, yet there are plenty of wackos who think we never landed on the moon and 9/11 was an inside job.

Ridicule is about the best weapon in a sceptics' arsenal, sometimes.

Edit: Looks like Anderson Cooper just did a piece on this hoax and how it's bogus (he interviewed several of the parents). It's worth checking out if you are somehow still not convinced.

Anderson Cooper is the last person I would believe, but Thanks for posting everythign above that, I have some friends that need to see this

I think the NRA staged the shootings so that Obama would start gun control posturing which would in turn increase gun sales and NRA memberships. Obama and the NRA have been in cahoots all along.

Kidding aside, Obama is the best damn thing that has happened to the firearm industry since the last world war. Stores around here can't keep ammunition on the shelves. The prices for ammo have doubled and guns are flying out the doors. It's ridiculous.

Really wish I could have seen into the future and spent all my money on guns and ammo, and sell 3/4 of it right now.... I'd be sitting pretty (as long as I wasn't in jail for purchasing so much... lol)
