This is really how season 3 should have ended.

THIS. They did not need episodes 6 & 7. They have the whole last season to set it up. Not that I'm against this episode. It was awesome nonetheless.

The last 2 episodes kind of set up a more dramatic death for The Governor which I think was done well. Damn that Daryl teaser :P

I'm really interested on where they'd go from there. They already did the telephone arc on Ric last season which I think fitted well on this part on the comics so I'm excited on what they intend to do here.

I thought Daryl was gone, damn them!

Thoroughly enjoyed that episode, but like most have said, that should have been how S3 ended... at the same time though, I like how it painted the Governor in the build up, proving that it isn't as straight forward as Rick vs Governor equating to Good vs Evil.

I wonder if Negan will show up in the TV series, I still need to finish his story in the comic, I got as far as Carl going trojan horse.

^ The 'face' on the side.

Correct, I saw it on Reddit, the barrell looks shocked! :p

According to Deadline, the episode saw 12.1 million total viewers tune in to see The Governor attack the prison, a midseason finale record for the AMC series as it's a huge increase from 2012's 10.5 million. Overall, The Walking Dead has been up 29% in the first half of its fourth season over the first half of season three. It will return on February 9th, 2014.

Possible Judith spoiler from Reddit:

Judith was strapped in when the kids had her

When Rick and Carl found the car seat the straps were undone

You see a scene with Tyrese running just before the tank blows up the walkway, looks as he is carrying something in his arms.

While i enjoyed the episode. I do feel they took an age to build up to this. I think they should have spent more of the first part of the season building up to this instead of wasting it on the prison sniffles. I think the problem was, the Governor managed to convince them to go to the prison to take it and then all of them were happy to just start shooting even after the Governor

killed Herschel

. I still enjoyed it though. I preferred the faster pace to it.

Herschel death came as a huge surprise much like Dale's death.

@Mudslag:

I didn't think Judith was dead tbh. When I saw the empty car seat I knew that the kids ran the wrong way for that reason, to get Judith.

I can't ######ing imagine how the ###### they'll ######ing portray a ######ing tamed Negan.

I can't ****ing imagine how the **** they'll ****ing portray a ****ing tamed Negan.

I like Negan and all, but if they introduce him into the series I just hope it doesn't feel like a rehash of The Governor. Like, oh great another crazy leader of a group that wants to kill Rick.

Exactly! I can't see them actually using that character in the show. I kinda feel like that's what they wish they had made the governor like in the comics but felt like they killed him off too soon, which is why we saw more of the governor in the TV show. Maybe they'll have something different in line...

Thing is, it seems to have aligned up with the comic story again now to an extent. I have distinct memories of it getting rather dull for a while at this point in the comic but perhaps not in the show as they've already got past the whole crazy rick phone thing.

I expect to see Carol again soon. Probably when they regroup and they're going to seriously stretch the moral implications of mentioning anything to Tyreese.

Perhaps they'll actually move in to the hill top in the show rather than partner up with them. I'm not sure if the whole Kingdom thing would sit as well in the TV show format.

Well Judith died in the attack on the prison in the comics, so I don't see why they should/will have changed that fact.

TV and comics are two different worlds, tv audience wouldnt take it as well as comic fans if she died.
