BTW here's a pic I took of what it says about the size of the game.

-- snip --

That means you need 36GB to install the game, not that the game is 36GB. It clocks in at around 16 and a half GB. Which is still massive!

I better start clearing my HDD now1

Where?!

Also it would be nice if the snow actually got heavy and you needed a bigger car to drive into it.

It is difficult to give you a stream as they go up and down like yoyos as Rockstar clamp down on them.

Plus i'm sure it would be against the rules here. Look on the Grand Theft Auto V Reddit - They get posted there.

Also if you want to know about the snow. I will put it in a spoiler below.

It is a slight story spoiler, so some people might want to skip it.

Snow only seems to be in the prologue mission at the start of the game. I haven't watched any mission streams, only free roam. So i don't know if it comes back later on

Also when you see the water in motion. :|  it is beautiful.

Yeah, quite a few people have by the looks of it.

Mine is still despatching at the moment but it is estimated on the 17th. I think i can wait till then

Yeah mines been marked as dispatched and the money has been taken. Good times. Now all i need is for the Royal Mail to actually deliver it on time :p

on Xbox, (it was already known) disc 1 installs automatically (7.68 GB), so no luck on my old modded box which donated it's HD to a new slim.

Edit: because I was thinking to put up a livestream  :)

With all the car customization going on in the game, I know you can swap engines and stuff. Screw a sports car I want a station wagon with a bad ass engine in it. Ultimate sleeper lol.

For real you can swap engines? O_o

is there anymore known about the driving dynamic?

From what some video reviews are saying it'll be like midnight club, so I'm guessing the cars will crash by hitting some random texture in the grass :P

(that last part was only meant for comic effect, and true if you've ever played the first MC)

Amazon sells out of Grand Theft Auto V ahead of release

Days ahead of the global release of Grand Theft Auto V Amazon have sold out of the Xbox 360 version of the game

The gaming world has been eagerly anticipating what has been dubbed the "most exciting" event in the entertainment calendar - the release of the game which cost more to make then many Hollywood blockbusters.

But days before its release on Tuesday, Amazon announced that they had sold out of the game for certain consoles.

In a message on their website the said: ?Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox 360)--Stock Update. Please note--due to high demand, orders placed for Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox 360) from September 13 will be shipped as soon as we receive inventory.?

The online retail giant is thought to be the first to sell out, although the game is still available to pre-order

It is still available to pre-order on the PlayStation 3.

The video game reportedly cost around ?170 million to make and market - more than films such as Avatar - and has sparked so much interest that stores will open their doors at midnight on Monday for special launch events.

Experts are tipping the game to smash sales records and estimates suggest it could generate ?1 billion during its first year on sale when gamers are predicted to snap up some 25 million copies.

Tom Butler, social media editor of gaming site IGN.com, said thousands of workers have taken the day off for the launch or plan on calling in sick.

"Grand Theft Auto V will be the biggest entertainment launch of the year and possibly all-time with levels of consumer anticipation outstripping Harry Potter and Twilight," he said.

"With gamers queuing at midnight to be among the first to play and the developer boasting thousands of hours of game play, there's no surprise that we're likely to see an outbreak of GTA flu this September."

The gaming site polled 10,995 readers to ask whether they would take time off work on Tuesday when the GTA V goes on sale.

According to its findings, 5,059 readers (46%) said they booked the day off as holiday.

Another 2012 (19%) said they would phone in claiming to be unwell while 3,884 (35%) said they would wait to get their hands on the game.

Fans are expected to start queuing outside stores stocking the game tomorrow when a handful of shops will open their doors for night-time launches.

The Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series - which sees players buy virtual prostitutes - has accumulated sales of 135 million copies since its 1997 debut. GTA IV has reportedly sold more than 25 million copies since its 2008 release.

    • Microsoft finally admits its default Windows 11 25H2, 24H2 action broke key legacy component by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. So far the company has acknowledged two known issues that have popped up after the release which include bugged-out Office apps as well as the Recycle Bin; though there could be more at play too. Speaking of bugs and issues, Microsoft seems to have finally acknowledged a problem that probably has been around for close to a year. That's because back in July of 2025 the company made a default change to the latest Windows 11 versions, wherein it switched to JScript9Legacy on Windows 11 24H2 and later releases. Hence following the release of version 25H2 in October 2025, JScript9Legacy also remained default-enabled. As a result there has been a compatibility issue ever since then. For those wondering, by switching to JScript9Legacy Microsoft intended to improve the security of modern Windows PCs by reducing vulnerabilities tied to legacy scripting like cross-site scripting (XSS), among others. XSS exploits can allow cyber-attackers to attach malicious code onto legitimate websites and use them to execute the code when a potential victim loads such a website. Hence the new JScript9Legacy engine enforced stricter execution policies and improved object handling, which should help mitigate such attacks. Microsoft today has published a new support article detailing the problem. Neowin spotted it while browsing. The company says that JScript global definitions and execution context may fail to persist across scripts, potentially breaking older dependent apps and web-based components that relied on this legacy behavior. In the article Microsoft has confirmed that the issue stems from its move away from the older jscript9.dll engine in favor of jscript9legacy.dll. As mentioned above, while the newer engine was designed to address vulnerabilities and strengthen security it also changes how JScript handles execution context. As a result functions and definitions loaded by one script could no longer remain available to subsequent scripts once execution ended. The company notes that some applications worked correctly on earlier Windows versions because the older JScript engine automatically retained global definitions and execution state between scripts. Under the newer model though that behavior is disabled by default causing certain legacy workloads and polyfill-dependent scripts to fail. Microsoft says it addressed the problem via the KB5077241 update though the fix had not been enabled automatically in the following updates. As such admins must explicitly turn on persistent JScript execution context using a Registry setting that the tech giant shared today. The configuration can be applied to individual processes or system-wide through the FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE registry key. The steps have been outlined below: Run the following command to create the feature control registry key: reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE" Under this key, create a new DWORD (32-bit) value. Configure the value as follows: To enable persistence for specific processes only: Set the value to 1 for each target process name. To enable persistence for all processes: Add * as the key name and set its value to 1. You can find the official support article here on Microsoft's website.
