I like how I've seen "XBOX ONE EXCLUSIVE" all over the place.... umm it's coming out on XBox and PC, they need to check the definition of exclusive...

By that they mean, it won't be on Playstation, not that its only available on the Xbox One. Though it seems their definition of exclusive is like wireless carier's definition of unlimited.

I found where I got that number from. Right on the FAQ page.

When does the Titanfall closed Beta start and end?
? The Titanfall beta will end on February 18th at 6 PM PST

So if it starts on the 14th as the gaming world is speculating that it will, that means it is just 4 days long according to that page.

EDIT - In fact, they say people will get their emails letting them know they got in by the 17th, so for some people it sounds like the beta may only be a day long???

You will receive an email no later than 11:59 PM PST on Feb 17th if you are invited to participate.

We will see... I already signed up ... I will find out for sure once I get in... if it lasts a day... I will not sign up for beta on games no more... unless I get told that it will last more than 3 months before release... I signed up before for Titanfall not long ago but I didn't get accepted to get in. Oh well.

I only sign up for xbox dashboards. I like beta testing the dashboards on 360.. and hopefully I will do the same on XB1.

Watched a few gameplay and reviews from some youtube producers and I have to say, it was fairly underwhelming. It's looking exactly as I feared, very linear gameplay. I know some may take a suprise that I expected more, but it literally just seems like CoD with giant robots. I was hoping for more clever objective focused missions but it seems they (at least so far) haven't pushed the bounderies on what traditional FPS are about.

I hope I get a chance to be proved wrong by getting into the Beta but I am not expecting it and unless something has been hidden that will be part of release and not a form of paid DLC somewhere down the line I doubt I will be picking it up at todays stupid prices.

Agreed, but this isn't a beta as the usual since. Its not for them to test gameplay features or balancing issues, etc. There is a video with one of the devs out where he says the only thing they want to test is microsofts cloud. Other than that we just want to allow people to see the game early.  The game is done and ready. We knew that from the Alpha test

Here is the video

Exclusive has always meant consoles...

I'm pretty sure it hasn't.... I may be totally wrong, but show me another game, that came out on a Console, and was also on PC that was touted as an "exclusive" to said console. I just skimmed this list and couldn't find any marked as "YES" in "Exclusive" that came out on PC as well - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_game_exclusives_(seventh_generation). The definition of Exclusive is very clear - not shared : available to only one person or group, thus, if it is on Xbox One and PC, it is not an "Exclusive"

So the game goes gold and now they want to test the cloud?

Yeah, it's a demo.

Yeah, it's a demo.

They want to test it on the PC side - Azure has been the backbone of XB ONE since the console's launch.  However, Azure has NEVER been the backbone for a PC game - hence the test being more critical on the PC side of things.  There could well be a harbinger for other EA titles (both future and existing) if Azure holds up - or have we forgotten the backbone issues with certain CURRENT EA PC titles?

One of the halos come to mind, maybe halo 2...

The PC version was a port released 3 years later. It was also not playable on XP unless you "hacked" it (the OS most people used at the time of the release of the port). The game was already old and the gfx were not up to par to other PC games at that time. It was a lame plot to create a buzz around Windows Vista.

[edit] sorry should have read AG reply before posting.

Hmm, I seem to remember the idea about console exclusives coming up a lot last generation. I believe there were several games that MS touted as exclusives even when a pc version was out or soon to be out. Maybe they always used the term 'console exclusive', but I could have sworn sometimes they didn't.

The reason I think that is that there were always huge blow ups on the internet with people bashing MS for using that term. I'm not sure where I could go to confirm this, but does anyone else remember that?

I don't remember it ever being used in official ads or print etc, but I'm certainly aware of the term "console exclusive".

Microsoft's official term was and is "Only on Xbox". Used to be included on cover art:

Haven't seen it on any of the X1 games though.

    • Finally we can whole-heartedly recommend the AMD 9070 GRE thanks to this discount by Sayan Sen Earlier this month at Computex 2026 AMD released the Radeon RX 9070 GRE for a global audience. We reviewed the GPU and it scored 8 out of 10 for gaming and 7.5 out of 10 for productivity including things like AI performance. The card launched for $550 which we thought was a bit on the higher side, though currently you are getting the chance to get the Gigabyte Gaming variant of the GPU for just $500 thanks to this discount (purchase link under the specs table down below). As such we can finally whole-heartedly recommend this GPU. The card employs Gigabyte's WINDFORCE cooling system which combines multiple design elements such as alternate-spinning Hawk fans, a vapor chamber, and composite heat pipes to manage heat dissipation. The Server-grade Thermal conductive gel further helps in this department. The inclusion of a semi-passive cooling mode allows the fans to remain inactive under low workloads, which allows for reduced noise operation during lighter usage. There is dual BIOS switch that allows toggling between performance and silent modes. The technical specs of the Gigabyte Gaming RX 9070 GRE OC is given in the table below: Specification Value Boost Clock Up to 2920 MHz Game Clock Up to 2340 MHz Stream Processors 3072 Memory Clock 18 Gbps Memory Size 12 GB Memory Type GDDR6 Memory Bus 192-bit Memory Bandwidth 432 GB/s Card Bus Interface PCI Express 5.0 Max Resolution 7680 × 4320 Max Displays (Multi-view) 4 Card Dimensions 288 × 132 × 50 mm (L × W × H) Recommended Power Supply 700 W Power Connectors 2 × 8-pin Display Outputs 2 × DisplayPort 2.1a 2 × HDMI 2.1b Get it at the link below: GIGABYTE Gaming Radeon RX 9070 GRE 12GB GDDR6 GPU (GV-R907GREGAMING OC-12GD): $549.99 + $50 discount with promo code in mail => $499.99 (Sold and Shipped by Newegg US) This Newegg deal is US-specific and not available in other regions unless specified. This is a first-party seller link (at the time of article publishing); ensure that you also purchase from a first-party seller link only.
