So its your preferred version, not some generalization. Everyone gets to decide for themselves.

Indeed. Having played the Alpha on the PS4, the beta on the PS4 and the beta on the Xbox One, and now the final version on Xbox One this morning, I know I made the definitive choice. Glad to see all my friends got it for the Xbox One as well. I can't believe I am almost level 3 after just under an hour. The game is so addicting.

Awesome, some Neowin co-op!

I'm down too!

I played the opening this morning before I left for work. It seems identical to the Alpha/Beta. The ghosts are even in the same place lol. Though when I got to the tower, I didn't have all of the emblems in the special delivery box like I should have. I put in all of the codes that people found from the LE editions, and they're linked to my account, but I didn't get any of them. Kind of lame.

Now comes the longest day at work, ever.

edit: oh I see. I logged into Bungie.net and all of the codes that I entered the other day now say "Use Now" next to them...which is weird because they didn't say that the other day after they were added.

I think that because of my preference for the controller, the online service, the parity graphics, and of course....the DLC is only time exclusive, so really, it's the one to get.

Calling it the definitive version for Xbox One seems like troll-bait because Bungie themselves haven't released a definitive titled edition of Destiny and according to them its the PS4 version because of the exclusivity deal with Sony which doesn't expire until Fall 2015. PS4 has a full year of additional destiny content before the Xbox One gets it.

You also make mention that you played the Beta on the PS4 but bought the final version for the Xbox One? You needed to pre-order the game in order to play the beta... Doesn't make sense that you would somehow own both to play the beta's and then somehow only end up with one on the Xbox. It also doesn't make sense that you would pre-order the same game on both systems, it also doesnt make sense that you would choose the Xbox One version of the game over the PS4 if you owned both consoles because its not the same game. The PS4 version has more content and features and earlier access to DLC's. It literally has destiny content that won't be available on the Xbox One for another year..

If I only owned an Xbox One I would probably just buy it and not be too fussed about the missing content the PS4 has, but if I owned both I would definitely get it on the PS4.

edit: Looking further into this I checked the PSN account you have posted in your sig and it doesn't show Destiny in the trophies list, trophies were earn-able in the beta and even if you didn't earn any it shows every game you have played on that account and shows 0 progress/0 trophies. Yours doesn't have Destiny at all. Judging by the game play statistics it looks more like you created a PSN account to play on a friends PS4 rather than have your own but that's just what it looks like to me.

S4 has a full year of additional destiny content before the Xbox One gets it.

No, they have a year with slightly earlier releases before they're release don the One.  Also if his thread was troll bait(calling it troll bait is against the rules) it appears you got solidly hooked on the bait and hook.

All versions of Destiny is the definitive edition.

I was interested in the game after the beta, but after that I think it was mostly just a want to play something new, all games get boring everything gets boring when you're just wandering around the house all day :p  For now I'm saving my money and will probably buy it at some point,if that's soon or in a few months.... who knows.

Right, PS4-Neowin, what classes are you all going? I'm the teamplayer who's willing to go whatever everyone else isn't to make co-op better for us. I know Andy is thinking Titan. Only class I would maybe suck balls at is the sniper one, I do better sniping on PC games. So I may go Warlock.

Copy hasn't been delivered yet, but it's courier to delivery up to 8pm *fingers crossed*

I am going to probably play the same class I did in the beta which was Warlock I believe. If not Titan. I will for sure not go with Hunter.

Truth is though it really does not matter a ton. I do not get a whole lot of opportunities to play these days so when I can join in will be sporadic and probably not for any extended amount of time.

Hunter here. I had a really tough time deciding. My brother is going Titan, but as to whether he'll be a bubble shield or not, I don't know.

PM if you guys want to join up. I'd rather not broadcast my live/psn name to the interwebs.

Here is a screen capture (sorry its from the website as the PS3 does not support Screen captures) of my character lvl 12 Warlock Human

*Looks like the Neowin uploader is broken

How are you enjoying warlock? It's the class I'm thinking of going.

I think this is the case but can someone confirm, you have to get through the whole first part before you can play with other people right?

Yeah you'll need to get to the Tower before you can join up with a fireteam.

Have just about gotten to level 10 with my Titan and really having a blast. Did most of that with 3 friends and then will be playing more with at least 1 of them tonight.  All caught up on the Beta story so it's new stuff from here on out so I'm looking forward to it.

Yeah you'll need to get to the Tower before you can join up with a fireteam.

Thanks that is what I thought. I stopped right when I got there in the Beta so never got a chance to check out it out with others online.

I'm definitely running warlock. I loved it during the beta. I wasn't too interested in being the tank as a Titan and the Warlock class just offers a very fun mix of abilities and gun play. I really feel like it makes for a strong support class that can offer strong aoe damage to crowds of enemies while your team mates do their thing.

If you like that kind of mix in a class, you should enjoy Warlock.

Can you lock your game so no one can join These random people joining my game is annoying the hell out of me.

Or maybe I am not understanding things here. Just started playng.

Go to options, switch to the roster menu, click on the people icon next to "fireteam", and set your team to "closed"or "invite only ". That will prevent anyone from joining your team.

My copy didn't arrive today :( To be fair Very did say 2 days delivery time but I was hopeful.

I'll join you guys tomorrow, hope servers are holding up well.

Always see this on delayed online orders, is it cheaper online or are you to rural? Cheapest locations in Australia are just stores for $69 to walk in and pick up a copy.

Nothing worse then waiting for a package  :pinch:

I finally just ordered my copy, I stuck to my guns and refused to pay anywhere near what some pre-order sites were asking for. Cheapest I ever saw it at a point I could order it (I did see missed deals) was ?42, a day after release Amazon and Tesco Direct have it listed for ?40 and I found a code to take it down to ?35 at Tesco.

Patience FTW!

    • Linux 7.1 arrives with an NTFS overhaul and major hardware performance boosts by Paul Hill The founder of the Linux kernel has just announced the availability of Linux 7.1. This is a stable version of the kernel that will now be tested by various Linux distributions before it is shipped to users through update managers. Some users, like those on Debian, for example, might not get it for a long time, if at all, while Fedora users can expect it in the near future. With Linux 7.1 out on time, the merge window for Linux 7.2 is now open, giving contributors the opportunity to send in major new features that have been waiting for the last two months. Torvalds warned that he is currently travelling and will be in another timezone, so timing for the merge window may be irregular due to timezone differences and limited internet access. Torvalds said that he has already fetched early pull requests to allow him to do some offline work, but the travel could still cause disruption. Right now, he is not planning to extend the release, but did consider it. He said he might later regret not extending, though. In terms of this last week of development for Linux 7.1, Torvalds said there were no major or alarming changes. This week consisted mostly of smaller driver updates to GPU, networking, and sound, networking fixes, trace tooling fixes, and misc minor fixes. The shortlog this week lists fixes for driver bugs, memory leaks, I/O and USB fixes, networking and RDMA fixes, DRM/graphics fixes, and tooling and verification improvements. Specific fixes include USB series heap-overflow and buffer overflow fixes, and multiple use-after-free, memory-leak, and refcount corrections across subsystems such as i2c, zram, gpio, and net. There are fixes for graphics drivers, including amdgpu, i915, and virtio, as well as hypervisor and virtualization tweaks affecting mshv, vmbus, and hyperv. According to Phoronix, anyone running Linux 7.1 should look out for the new NTFS driver, Intel FRED for improved performance on Panther Lake and future CPUs, faster graphics with Intel Arc Battlemage, and improvements for older AMD Radeon GPUs. If you are running Linux on your computer and everything is fine, then you don’t need to worry about updating to Linux 7.1 as a priority; just wait for it to be pushed to you. If you have tried Linux on hardware but it didn’t work properly, trying again with a distro that uses Linux 7.1 could cause Linux to work on your machine, thanks to the new hardware support.
