Man of Steel sequel to feature Batman (and others) (2016)

So the movie has been canceled?   Good deal!!

Yeah this was from way back when, the day someone pitched it

Today isn't the day our wishes get answered sadly :(

Where there really people thinking that he was going to be Robin? Or that there would be a Robin as old as him?

I was just thinking about how incredibly crappy The Dark Knight Rises was, and they even introduced Robin in that film, and then to turn around and pretty much reboot the character again, I honestly have to say, I think I'm done with the entire franchise.

Ugh! Just thinking about how utterly bad Bane was as a character and that stupid, unintelligible voice. So. Incredibly. Bad. :x

No Robin, but I'm open to the idea of a Nightwing, it would match with the idea of an older Batman.

True that. But again, Damon doesn't even fit for that role.

I wasn't thinking about having Damon play the character, just that the character could be in the movie or a future movie.  I'd rather someone new or not well known play him anyways.

I think Matt Damon would make a pretty decent Green Lantern or Flash if they do the Justice League movie, but I can't think of any role for him in a Batman/Superman movie, unless he's a villain.  I do not think we will be seeing any Robins in this movie, but you never know.

Good :p Because Damon should stay as far away from these movies as possible :p

The only Lantern I could see him play is Guy Gardner other than that, I can't see him play anyone other superhero though,

No, I definitely wasn't thinking Hal Jordan lol.  And yeah, if they made him Guy then it would mess with continuity, but it's not like movie makers really care to do the comics justice 99% of the time.  It might be amusing to see him try though.  I could see him as Barry Allen, too. That might be a better fit.

Meh, I don't really see him pulling off Barry's humor though. If they'd chose to use Hal Jordan as Green Lantern than I hope they'll find a more fitting actor this time around. I'd personally like to see John Stewart as Green Lantern this time around though, but I'm sure that is wishful thinking as they'll probably opt for Hal.

Batman versus Superman? Two HEROES fighting each other? Anyone else see the problem here? I haven't read the script, but the premise sounds so stupid I'm not sure I want to read 121 pages of crap.

In the Frank Miller comics they have fought before. Batman ended up killing the joker and escaping from the police, but Superman chases after him to have justice served. After they get in to a fight, Batman then has a heart attack and is believed dead.

With that said though, it was a Batman comic and the focus was Batman. The idea of this being a Superman film and Batman being a secondary character possibly means a different story (I haven't seen anything about the film's plot) or maybe just a different perspective that allows us to focus more on Superman than Batman.

Ugh! Dumbest thing I've heard. Not only do these two characters not belong in the same universe, they definitely shouldn't be fighting each other. So many strikes against this film, I'm definitely leaning towards the never watching it column.

Guys, guys...relax.

Firstly, breathe.

Secondly, I rate Affleck as an actor.  No, I'm not over the moon at him playing Batman, but I AM willing to go on a little faith.

However, that being said, I want to see the plot first because any, and I do mean any, actual blows being struck between Superman/Batman would mean that I am 100% turned off.

Let's look at the evidence...we're just seen Cavill's Kal-el destroy a frickin' town, and go through building after building.  The first time that happens with Batman, you have one dead mother f**ker.  If realism and adherence to individual lore is attempted, it would see Batman using his humanity to obtain rtesults where Superman cannot.

They "can" work in the same universe, but it will take a VERY clever script.

Personally I'm not sure it will work because for it to work it has to be almost perfect.

Well there was more to the story than that, it was about Batman's fall from grace. I'd give a general summary, but you'd be better off just reading about it here. While I'm not a fan of Batman and Superman coming together in a comic, I have to say that when I read it I was quite pleased.

    • Very fitting name since AI users have air where there brains should be.
    • Yes, it was amusing at the time because even then dbrand was well known for stealing the designs of products from other companies. That’s what they do.
    • Didn’t Dbrand once complain that Casetify was ripping off their designs a well? seems pretty bad of them to try and get around Valve’s copyright this way with that in mind.
    • Dbrand thought they could get away with this Steam Machine case, Valve disagreed by David Uzondu Image via Dbrand Dbrand has cancelled its highly anticipated Companion Cube enclosure for the Valve Steam Machine, which it teased back in November of last year with a concept render and sign-up page, because it did not ask Valve for permission first before manufacturing the case. According to Dbrand, it took the "backwards approach" of building the product first before asking for permission from the copyright holder. Seven months of work went into the project, requiring over a thousand engineering hours from the design team. Workers developed forty-four sets of injection molding tools, making a unique mold for each sub-component of the crate. When the Companion Cube went live on Monday last week, it, according to Dbrand, quickly became the second-fastest-selling product in the company's fifteen-year history, racking up orders for hundreds of thousands of units. Customers eagerly bought the $129.95 deluxe edition or the bare-bones $99.95 version, which the manufacturer cheekily branded as the "Poverty Cube". It was around this time that the legal eagles at Valve descended on the accessory maker with a formal demand. The developer pointed out that the iconic block design remains protected intellectual property from the game Portal, so unlicensed sales had to stop. Dbrand said that all its pleas to salvage the project with the Valve team, including proposals to run a properly licensed release under official terms "with their blessing", fell on deaf ears, so it had no choice but to obey and remove every trace of the product from the internet. If you bought the enclosure, the company said that banks will process your refund by the end of this week, but if it still hasn't arrived in your account by then, you should not hesitate to contact support. The Steam Machine itself is a high-performance console that Valve designed directly to bring PC gaming into the living room. It was announced on 12th November 2025 (the same day Dbrand announced the Cube) and runs on the Linux-based SteamOS, the same OS that powers the Steam Deck. As for the price, due to the shortage of memory and storage chips, the hardware cost landed much higher than people were expecting, starting at $1,049 for the 512 model (without a controller) or $1,128 with the new gamepad. The premium 2 TB model pushes those prices even higher, selling at $1,349 for the standalone console and hitting $1,428 if you want the bundle.
