Man of Steel sequel to feature Batman (and others) (2016)

Alter's been leaking a lot of stuff but isn't part of the crew - officially. Seems he's an unofficial conduit for the viral campaign.

That said, straigjt to Justice League - nonstop? Well, that would explain all the characters.

Another tidbit is that Affleck helped bring in Chris Terrio, the Oscar winning writer of Argo, to tighten up the script before shooting began.

Yeah I am not sure I believe alot of it but some of what he has said has come true!

With all the hate about Ben (which i fully understand) i am pretty sure he is going to be determined to push his "acting skills" to the limit.

...and even then,  what he will be able to deliver, its going to be Daredevil level.

I disagree with the last bit. To be honest, I believe he'll be loads better in this film than he was in Daredevil.

Why is this thread so long? Ben Afflick is playing Batman... BEN AFFLICK, PEOPLE!

This film is dead.

Oh please... You can't even spell the guy's name.  Sure, he wouldn't have been my go-to choice, but am willing to give him a try before writing him off.

Plus, he was the bomb in Phantoms

Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that the release of Zack Snyder?s untitled Superman/Batman film has been moved to May 6, 2016, allowing the filmmakers time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story. The decision was made following the shift of the start of production to second quarter of this year. The Studio has also set a July 17, 2015, worldwide release date for its as-yet-untitled all-new Peter Pan adventure. Joe Wright will direct the epic live-action film about the boy who would never grow up, created by J.M. Barrie. The dual date announcement was made by Dan Fellman, President, Domestic Distribution, and Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President, International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

In making the announcement, Fellman stated, ?We are happy to take advantage of these coveted summer dates, which are perfect for two of our biggest tentpole releases. We share the fans? excitement to see DC Comics? most popular figures, Superman and Batman, together on the big screen for the first time, which will now be arriving in theatres in May 2016. Peter Pan has delighted people of every generation for more than a century, so we are thrilled to bring him back to the screen next summer for today?s moviegoers.?

Kwan Vandenberg added, ?We know that there is already great anticipation building for the next Super Hero film from Zack Snyder, and we are equally eager to see what he has in store for Superman and Batman as they share the big screen for the first time ever. The summer release corridor is also perfect for Joe Wright?s ambitious new Peter Pan adventure, reimagining the ageless story of the beloved and forever-young hero for audiences worldwide.?

Zack Snyder?s Superman/Batman film stars Henry Cavill, reprising his role as Superman/Clark Kent, and Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne. The film will also reunite ?Man of Steel? stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane, and also stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince.

Snyder will direct the film from a screenplay written by David S. Goyer, from a story co-created by Goyer and Snyder. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan and Wesley Coller serving as executive producers.

The film is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, Batman characters created by Bob Kane, and Wonder Woman created by William Moulton Marston, published by DC Entertainment.

Superman v Batman delayed to 2016

Superman and Batman's big screen team-up has been delayed by almost a year, film studio Warner Bros has confirmed.

Originally scheduled for July 2015, the superhero set-to will now appear on 6 May, 2016.

A sequel to 2013's Man of Steel, the as-yet-untitled film sees Ben Affleck stepping into the Batman role, next to British actor Henry Cavill's Superman.

It was reported the delay was triggered by Affleck sustaining a leg injury, but that has been dismissed by the studio.

Instead, the release date has been pushed back to "allow the filmmakers time to realise fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story," it said.

The film has recently gained a third superhero - with Fast and Furious star Gal Gadot signed up to play Wonder Woman.

Filming had already started before the announcement, with some incidental footage of an American Football game shot before Christmas.

However, director Zack Snyder was not due to call "action" on the main scenes until spring.

The move away from 2015 means the Superman vs Batman blockbuster avoids a crowded marketplace, with new instalments of The Avengers, Terminator, Jurassic Park and Fast and Furious all scheduled to hit cinemas over the summer.

Warner Bros says it will still make use of the 17 July date, scheduling a new Peter Pan film by British director Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice) for that weekend.

Meanwhile, Superman's release date had already been earmarked for an as-yet-unannounced film from comic book rivals Marvel - which could mean a superhero stand-off at the box office, as well as on the silver screen.

"We know that there is already great anticipation building for the next superhero film from Zack Snyder, and we are equally eager to see what he has in store for Superman and Batman as they share the big screen for the first time ever," said Warner Bros president Kwan Vandenberg in a statement.

Wouldn't surprise me if that Argo writer they brought in expanded the scope of the script, filling in holes etc. This would give them more time to shoot and render new scenes & more complex effects, especially with several metahumans in action at once. That can take longer than the live shoot.

Disappointing. While Disney and Marvel dish out movie after movie, raking in tons of money in both merchandise and movie sales, WB and DC Comics seem content to severely limit themselves with TV shows and the occasional movie. Bummer.

    • Didn’t Dbrand once complain that Casetify was ripping off their designs a well? seems pretty bad of them to try and get around Valve’s copyright this way with that in mind.
    • Dbrand thought they could get away with this Steam Machine case, Valve disagreed by David Uzondu Image via Dbrand Dbrand has cancelled its highly anticipated Companion Cube enclosure for the Valve Steam Machine, which it teased back in November of last year with a concept render and sign-up page, because it did not ask Valve for permission first before manufacturing the case. According to Dbrand, it took the "backwards approach" of building the product first before asking for permission from the copyright holder. Seven months of work went into the project, requiring over a thousand engineering hours from the design team. Workers developed forty-four sets of injection molding tools, making a unique mold for each sub-component of the crate. When the Companion Cube went live on Monday last week, it, according to Dbrand, quickly became the second-fastest-selling product in the company's fifteen-year history, racking up orders for hundreds of thousands of units. Customers eagerly bought the $129.95 deluxe edition or the bare-bones $99.95 version, which the manufacturer cheekily branded as the "Poverty Cube". It was around this time that the legal eagles at Valve descended on the accessory maker with a formal demand. The developer pointed out that the iconic block design remains protected intellectual property from the game Portal, so unlicensed sales had to stop. Dbrand said that all its pleas to salvage the project with the Valve team, including proposals to run a properly licensed release under official terms "with their blessing", fell on deaf ears, so it had no choice but to obey and remove every trace of the product from the internet. If you bought the enclosure, the company said that banks will process your refund by the end of this week, but if it still hasn't arrived in your account by then, you should not hesitate to contact support. The Steam Machine itself is a high-performance console that Valve designed directly to bring PC gaming into the living room. It was announced on 12th November 2025 (the same day Dbrand announced the Cube) and runs on the Linux-based SteamOS, the same OS that powers the Steam Deck. As for the price, due to the shortage of memory and storage chips, the hardware cost landed much higher than people were expecting, starting at $1,049 for the 512 model (without a controller) or $1,128 with the new gamepad. The premium 2 TB model pushes those prices even higher, selling at $1,349 for the standalone console and hitting $1,428 if you want the bundle.
    • It's listed #399.99 on Amazon, per your link. It's not $299.99.
