And your complaints about bugger flippers shouldn't make more than minimum wage is bigotry and narrow mindedness...  There people in these jobs that might not have the intellectual means to do anything above these tasks and need to make a wage in this society so that they can have some place decent to live, eat decent meals and have clothing on their back.

I agree.

Someone's gotta flip the burgers and fry the fries. Someone's gotta empty the trash and sweep the streets.  The world is full of unskilled jobs, but where does it say unskilled should equal poorly paid?  Labour is labour, after all, and everyone deserves to be able to feed their families from the fruits of their labour.

I would never look down on someone for doing a "lesser" job than I, because who am I to say it's lesser anyway?  I'm just a desk jockey, who's labours serve a very small market and pleases a very small group of clients.

Please they manage the underlings which mange more underlings...  They set a vision for the company and everyone else does the hard work to bring the CEO vision to fruition.  Still doesn't warrant the amount of money they get paid.  The people that actually bring the vision to actuality should be paid more.

I make more than enough to be comfortable so I'm not jealous at all.

They don't have the intellectual means? Even though they were afforded the same opportunities as everyone else? Damn. Well I should feel sorry for them then eh?

No. They should have made better life choices.

(If we're talking about the mentally disabled, that's a different story. But they also receive disability from the government and other sources, so it's not as bad as you make it out to be, although living conditions in group homes etc are abysmal (that's too off topic though))

And I don't think it's bigotry. I think it makes people want more, strive to be better and not want to have to work those jobs for long. But that's just my personal experience.

I could spend a lot of effort telling you why you're a numpty but the statement in itself will suffice for me. Your posts are lots of hilarious Alberta style nonsense that read like they written by a kid, probably just out of school, who had to read a few textbooks for some assignments.

My opinions come from knowing how business works (having come from a family that owned a small business that was quite successful) and from dealing with this super socialist pandering for too long. Manitoba is the heart of all things socialism in Canada, and most of us are tired of listening to these people complain about problems that everyone faced while trying to be successful, but didn't complain about because that's life. It's not fair, but no one ever said it would be.

I am better than a lot of people, and I deserve to be paid better. That's as simple as it gets. I should not be paid a high wage, simply because I think I'm worth that much. I must prove that I am worth that much, which these people have not. In fact, they've proved the exact opposite.

I don't care if you think I'm under informed, or uneducated. The simple fact is, I will continue to achieve greatness, while these people sit in poverty with their thumbs up their butts, because they're lazy, and ill informed about the world. Because I know how to use my talents, and better myself, instead of just looking for handouts.  And so do the people that manage to get themselves out of these situations every single day. It's possible, you just actually have to try.

I don't know why we support those who do nothing, yet tax the hell out of anyone who actually contributes to society.  It makes no sense to me. Everyone is not equal, everyone should NOT be paid the same, some people SHOULD be considered more valuable than others. And if thinking that way makes me a "numpty" that's fine. I'm happy being a numpty in the eyes of the blind. They can't see #### anyway.

Anyway, all of that is a bit off topic. These people don't need a wage increase for nothing, they need the non-taxable personal allowance to go up, they need welfare to start drug testing and stop paying for babies so we can afford to have less tax income as a country, which means even more increases in non-taxable allowances, more government grants for school, etc, and in most cases they need to stop being lazy, and start working towards bettering themselves.  The money should not have to come out of consumers pockets, or the business owners.

I do remember that I went to business office require high speed WPM that I don't match with them. I heard about American jobs required people must have high speed at anywhere. I want to work, but I am so slow to work at job place here in USA. Is that true American jobs required high speed worker?

In some cases yes. But depending on your field, it could be a bit lower. Administrative assistants generally have a lower WPM than stenographers for instance.

You clearly have no idea what a CEO does and how hard most of them work.

If you think it's that easy, go open your own business, take it public and become a CEO and then come back and tell us how easy your job is.

I do, need to poke the bear a little.

So the CEO's job is just like the job of some of employees that they are on the road, work day and night on projects, have tons of meeting with some of the same people and if not more.  And yes it is insane how under paid these employees are compared to the CEO that do exactly the same thing.

If you really think a CEO and regular employee does the same thing, you have a lot of things to learn.

And yet again, even though I've already said this 3 times (not to you personally)...A PERSON'S WAGE ISN'T 100% BASED ON HOW HARD THEY WORK. It's based on how valuable they are to a company and the skills they offer. A CEO is hard as #### to replace, and usually has a great deal of experience, education and skills under his belt.

It's easier to replace other executives than a CEO.

It's easier to replace a full time employee than an executive.

It's easier to replace a part time employee than a full time salaried one.

It's easier to replace a burger flipper than a white collar worker.

That's how paygrades work. If you're easily replaceable and you offer / your job requires no skills. You don't make much money. If your hard to replace and your job requires a ton of skill, then your pay is higher too.

Fast food is a no skills job, mainly for younger people. I worked at few when I was teen back then min wage was 3.25 I was happy with that. If you are older and work fast food and need more money get another job. Or maybe be a better employee and you get a better raise.

Im getting tired of these people expect government handouts. Go to school and get a real damn job that's worth being paid more than minimum wage. I got a job that pays over $20/hr without even having finished highschool. This is just stupid. "We deserve more money because we cant live on minimum wage". Youre NOT MEANT TO LIVE ON MINIMUM WAGE. It's supposed to be a stepping stone towards a career. Stop being so damn lazy.

Dude your day will come when you'll be working for minimum wage.  Karma has it's way of finding you and putting you in your place.  It's just a matter of time.

I already did, and am set up now so there is very little chance of that, barring a full on apocalypse.  I paid my dues, now I am enjoying the fruits of my years of hard work and dedication to my field. Believe me, I am getting exactly what I deserve =)

It's want for something they don't, and never will deserve that drives this ###### agenda.

Not knowing anything about McDonalds' and the money they make, would it be correct for me to assume that from what you say, $10,000 profit is quite good relative to the population size that the McDonalds serves?

About 60% of the population of this county lives below the poverty line, which means the money they made in that single 8 hour shift is probably more than 60% of the county will make in a year.

It's all very well saying you know how much money they bring in, but employees don't see the outlay.  They don't pay the lease on the building, the massive amounts of power, the water, the stock, the wages, delivery costs etc.

You also need to remember that wages are the biggest consumer of money for them, so they're going to pay as little as they can, because it helps them make more money.  They're not a charity, so thinking they should pay more just because they have the ability to isn't a valid argument.

The Government needs to change the minimum wage, not hope that one day the biggest corporations in the world decide to grow a heart.

I'm not ignorant of the fact that there are overhead/operating costs, but not $10,000+ a day per store.  Electricity, water, food consumed, employee wages, etc. I'm aware of those things.  The problem is corporate America.  The gap between CEO take-home and that of their average employees is the widest it has ever been in the history of this country.  My brother used to work at Wal-Mart in the electronics dept. and he said that a television priced at $600 would only cost Wal-Mart a little over $100.  A McD's worker earning minimum wage here in Kentucky couldn't even buy a full value meal with a drink from the store they work at with an hour's pay.

I believe raising the minimum wage is a stop-gap measure that will only increase the cost of living until they don't live any better at $10, $15, or $20 than they were at $7.25, but at least it's "something" we can do to help out the people who do 99% of the physical labor until we can tackle the corruption in corporate America.

Entertain me for a minute. Minimum wage goes to $15, rent/food and everything else increases as the companies need to recoup those added expenses. The person making $15 now is no better off. On the other Hand, the person making $15.50 before the increase isn't going to get the same $7.75/hr raise and is now on the poverty line as well... you've just created more persons living at that line.

You've effectively solved nothing and actually added more to the problem.

Read my last statement.  I agree with you on this.  The real root of the problem is not the wage itself, it's greedy mutli-millionare/billionaire CEOs who pay their employees just enough to put gas in the car so they can come back to work.

The CEOs don't directly set their pay or that of their employees (in very large organizations anyway). I'm sure there's instances where they would, but in places like Walmart, the CEO isn't setting the electronics guy in Bumpkin, Nevadas' wages. They have more pressing matters to deal with, such as keeping the boat afloat, and progressing. Don't blame them for taking advantage of all the hard work they put in for 20 some years beforehand.

All it takes is a bit of effort, and you can pull away from poverty. Its been proven hundreds of thousands of times. But no one wants to put in that effort, they just want the extra money because they 'deserve it" for not going to school, not putting in any effort and not being a productive member of society.

And yet we chastise the people who worked their entire lives to make those millions.

Such a backwards way of thinking.

As have I.  Like I said previously, people used to work hard for what they have.  Now, they want everything handed to them.  Doesnt work that way.  And people who cannot support themselves, or the kids they currently have, should keep their legs shut and not have anymore.

I'm not saying the people who work hard and earn their way to the top aren't worthy of pay equal to their position, but their employees should be compensated fairly as well, and the current state of affairs is pretty ridiculous.  Not everybody can work their way into CEO position.  We can't all be chiefs, we need a few indians doing the dirty work, that's just a fact of life, and since they do 99% of the actual labor, it would behooves the chiefs to make the indians happy.

<sarcasm> Oh common, we all know CEO's are just born into the jobs as millionaires and have no work to do and sleep at their desks all day or play golf 24/7 and never once had to work to move up in rank </sarcasm>

Employees in more than this one industry should follow suite, perhaps things might slowly begin to change.  As for replacing human customer service with machinery; would be very expensive, and might not bolster the same business revenues that humans produce.

Those here who are against increasing minimum wage to meet a level standard living have jobs that pays well.  If the shoes were reversed and you were making minimum wage and couldn't afford anything or the means of getting a better job you'll be screaming foul and want an increase.

How many of you have someone that does their landscaping or clean their house?  Do you pay them what they are worth being as you say it's a low skill job or is more than minimum wage?

I worked those jobs. Don't ever tell me I fell into my position when you do not have any clue the struggle I and every other successful induvidual faced. It's not any more difficult for these people than it was for me.

I could say you've never worked a hard day in your life and have no idea what it takes to deserve that money, doesn't make it true.

Last month, AMD announced it is answering community requests to bring FSR 4.1 to past generations of its Radeon graphics cards. This would be starting with RDNA 3 RX 7000 products. Right on schedule, this is what's rolling out now with the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2 driver containing official support for over 300 games. Following this, AMD is planning to bring out RDNA 2 (RX 6000 series) support for FSR 4.1 sometime in early 2027. As for the games, this Adrenalin 26.6.2 driver is a recommended install for anyone jumping into Ubisoft's upcoming Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced remake or id Software's DOOM: The Dark Ages' Revelations expansion. The two fixed issues in this release are these: Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may be observed while playing RoadCraft on Radeon™ RX 7000 series products. Purple screen may be displayed when using an HP Reverb G2 headset with SteamVR on Radeon™ RX 6000 series graphics products. The known issues AMD is still working on are the following: Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may be observed while playing Battlefield 6 on AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. AMD is actively working on a resolution with the developer to be released as soon as possible. Texture flickering or corruption may appear while playing Battlefield 6 with AMD Record and Stream on some AMD graphics products. AMD FSR Upscaling and AMD FSR Frame Generation may show as inactive in AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition while playing Battlefield 6 when enabled on Radeon™ RX 9000 series graphics products. Failure to install may be observed while installing AI Bundle components in some regions with limited access to HuggingFace and GitHub. Model flickering or rendering failure may be observed in Maxon Cinema 4D and Blender on Radeon RX 7000 series and above graphics products. Users experiencing this issue are recommended to install AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.3.1. Intermittent application crash may be observed on some models while running Blender on Radeon RX 7000 and above graphics products. Users experiencing this issue are recommended to install AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.3.1. The newly released AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2 driver is now available for download from the AMD Software app. Find the official changelog here.

    • Microsoft admits one of the most crucial Outlook features is currently broken by Sayan Sen Microsoft is making some decent progress when it comes to Windows 11. Recently we have confirmed reports of some rather useful improvements landing in the next version of the OS, 26H2, wherein GPU driver TDR crashes may finally be fixed, plus the company is also allowing users to disable web content on the Search. On the Outlook front though things have not been so rosy. Last month in May we reported several problems affecting basic functionalities on the app. These included a problem where documents would open blank or corrupt themselves. Following that, Quick Steps, a very useful feature, would no longer work correctly, and finally, Microsoft acknowledged a problem wherein images would fail to load up properly inside the email. Microsoft had resolved those bugs later and almost exactly a month after we reported on them, the company has now admitted a new similarly basic issue, this time on Macs. Users recently started noticing that Outlook would no longer display email threads properly as the original message itself was not displayed. An affected user Tsoumpas, C (ngmb) nicely described the problem in a forum post they made on Microsoft's site. They wrote: "Description of the issue: After updating Outlook for Mac [Version 16.110 (26061317)] on 18/6/2026, replying to any email no longer includes the original message in the reply window. Prior to the update, replies correctly contained the original email text below my response. Expected behavior: The original message should be included in the reply, as in previous Outlook versions and according to the configured reply settings. Actual behavior: The reply window contains only a blank composition area (or only my response), with none of the original email text included." Obviously this must be a highly frustrating for users as noted by several in that thread. The post, at the time of writing, has also been upvoted by more than 40 users indicating that is a fairly widespread bug. Thankfully Microsoft seems to have acknowledged the problem right around that time as it opened a new issue on its official website. In the support article, the company recommends switching to Outlook for Mac from the legacy app, where the problem appears to be happening.
