I won't spoil too much for everyone.

I have to say, I was wrong about Ben Affleck, he actually makes a killer Batman and played the part perfectly. I actually want to see more of that.

Jesse Eisenberg's acting sucked, he would have made a better Joker.

The action in this movie is truly top notch, but the story falls apart. It tried to put too much into one film and it sacrified the coherence IMO.
I also don't know how they want to continue with the Justice League after how it ended.

Oh well, at least we got to see Amy Adams' wet boobies. Wonder Woman...meh.

I have a few ideas of how they'll continue it, even with that ending, i don't want to go into spoilers yet either though.

I think they are doing Injustice. If they are, ugh.

Spoiler

That's what some think but i don't believe so, not fully. First off for injustice to work Louis has to die, but she didn't, superman "died". If you've ever seen the animated superman doomsday movie, it covers this type of event pretty well, it's worth seeing.  Instead of messing with parallel worlds like injustice i think we're just going to get your typical flash time travel at work, that's what i believe they did, flash showing up this way just changed a possible injustice type future that batman sees.

Also people talk about Lex and why he does this whole thing, they don't go into detail but i think the last scene with batman and him flipping the painting around might be hinting that he somehow knows about darkseid and the perademons, killing superman might have been part of some deal made?  It's a bit of a stretch but the hints are there and he has all this info about metahumans etc. I think the JL movie will tie back to this quite a bit and fill in the gaps, we just have to wait for it now.

Saw it today. For me it was better than Man of Steel. I mean, it's big, loud, and dumb, but at least the action doesn't leave you wanting to kill yourself just so you can make it stop. It's better in that regard, but yeah, not much else to write home about. I did feel sorry for the kids in the cinema, Jesus, they don't have Batman and Superman anymore, they have utterly violent psychopaths instead.  There were also some parents with really small kids (and I mean really small, like three year old), who deserve to be sterilized. The couple near me spent the first half of the movie actively trying to distract their kid from watching the screen, because of the content on it: deaths, murders, point blank executions, jump scares. They moved to some empty seats luckily so they weren't that annoying, and the kid must have fallen asleep after a while, so it probably won't be traumatized, but that was some grade A parenting right there.

Scary is always what batman has went for, using fear etc. Past movies never got there though, this one does it better, and the character always hurt the bad guys, a lot, if a few arms don't get broken in a batman fight then it's not close.

After seeing it a 2nd time over the weekend, I think it's better than my initial reaction.  With that said, it could have been epic and only ended up being good.

It's good, but it's not The Dark Knight/Batman '89 great.

I look forward to seeing it one more time, though.

Saw it last night, think it's so-so, was too long at 2h31.  Preferred Man Of Steel and the Bale trilogy of Batman.

And Wonder Woman, just to "plug her in" the DC world for a next movie?  She added nothing to the story.  Lois was just running around in this one.  And I never imagined that Lex Luthor would be that young and that "crazy".  A vilain yes, but more of a serious one.  This Lex had a "joker" undertone.  The surprise in this movie is Ben Affleck, he did a good job as Batman.

I give it a 6/10...  And I'm feeling generous.

Doomsday was a lot better than I expected.  Enjoyed it!  While I agree  it didn't pickup a good rhythm until the party scene or so and was disjointed at times, I was never bored.  I think it may have worked better if he would have stayed in one backstory for B/S at a time instead of flopping back and forth to subplots for each.

I think the only thing I truly disliked was they way they setup the title match and Lex in general.    Loved WW's unveiling.  Snyder once again nails the visual presentation.  You also can't put a price on how many iconic images Snyder was able to integrate.  Many may not like Snyder, but Miller clearly sees something in him and I think that trust has been rewarded for the third time.  I don't think there is anyone better at moving the comic format to the big screen.

Still not sure about the Flash and I think Momoa's appearance was easily the cheesiest part of the film.

I gave the film 7/10.

Jesse Eisenberg and Lex Luther sucked. Why anyone believe his role was brilliant is beyond me. He's trying to be a joker knockoff and it came off as very inauthentic. The script for his character sucked and he as an actor sucked.

That being said, batman was great. The best person in this move.  I never liked Ben Affleck as a person (because I hate liberal/socialist who worship government power), but he was very impressive. The move wasn't nearly as bad as the critics claimed on Rottentomato. They rated it in the 20s, while fans have it in the 70s. I wouldn't be surprised that if the fans weren't allowed to see critic ratings, they would have voted it closer to 80%.

I get what you're trying to say, Batman should be intimidating. This Batman wasn't scary in that way, he was a violent lunatic through and through. I used to play Batman and other heroes when I was a kid, because they were inspiring. I don't see many kids taking much inspiration from this one, other than to torture animals, possibly.

That's not how RT ratings work. They're not rating the movie 20/100, it just means that 20-30% or whatever of the critics rated the movie positively, while the rest rated it negatively. The true rating is around 5/10, which sounds about right. I'd give it a 6.

but one thing that completely turns me off from seeing it, is that Batman kills people. It kind of ruins the character, both in his relationship with Superman, but more importantly, it ruins his dynamic with the Joker. Batman's rule is the one thing that prevents him from being a complete lunatic, it's basically what separates him from the Joker.

I think that is exactly the point.   I will go into detail, these are minor spoilers.  They were shown in the trailers but a lot of people didn't make the connection or notice them, but just in case I will spoiler tag it anyway.

Spoiler

Robin is (most likely) dead, killed by the Joker.  His suit is seen (on display in the bat cave) with the words "haha joke's on you Batman" spray painted on it.  A Wayne Financial tower is also shown destroyed by Superman.  Bruce already has lost it.  He was pushed over the edge by these events.  Batman is even now branding people with the Bat logo, further showing how far he has lost it.

Now, having seen the movie there are other examples shown that further support this conclusion, flash backs, dreams, ect.. I do however believe they could have done a better job setting this up.

For those that have seen the movie or don't care about spoilers, here is my spoiler ridden semi-short Monday morning thoughts about the movie:

Spoiler

-The entire time spent setting up Batman against Superman could have been cut out and the movie would have been much better.  The opening scene with the Wayne tower being destroyed and Bruce witnessing the battle from the ground was more then enough to establish Bruce absolutely despises Superman.

-The trailers gave away far too much, imagine the mystery and surprise we could have had if we had no idea Wonder Woman would be in the movie.

-In addition, the trailers even gave away Doomsday. There was no mystery as to what Lex was doing in the ship.

-In fact, the entire movie was predictable from the trailers alone.  Batman and Superman fight because Superman destroyed a Wayne tower, but Doomsday shows up so they team up with Wonder Woman to fight it.   That's what we knew from the trailers and that's exactly what we got.  Like so many movies before it, if you have seen the trailer, you've seen the (best parts of the) movie. No sense in paying to see it anymore.

-Speaking the the ship... My biggest gripe about the entire movie... The ship just lets Lex become it's new commander, just like that.  Just because he is able to open the door?  The only security the entire Kryptonian ship has is a finger print scanner at the door?  One that can't even tell when you're using dead skin cells to fool it?  I guess the answer to this is "well the movie needed Lex to control the ship, so, why not?"

-The vision/dream of the future would make an awesome movie and looking back, I would have preferred that movie in place of this one.

-Martha Wayne, Martha Kent.  It just feels like a cop out to me...

Of course the biggest spoiler of all that you must not ever read unless you have seen the movie is this:

Spoiler

-Batman does indeed make Superman bleed and I am glad there was an answer to that question.

All that being said, I actually did enjoy the movie and I hope the extended cut addresses at least some of the more obvious problems and plot holes.

Also...

Spoiler

Batman is at rage against Superman, thinking he's the reason for the death of many...  And then they fight, fight and fight until Superman tells him about Martha, he's here to kill Batman or else Lex will kill Martha, and then we see Batman/Bruce thinking about the grave of his own mother, Martha and BAM!  They are "friends".  Batman's gonna save Superman mother while he's going to fight Lex.  Wow, that did not take much for Batman to forget everything else....

I honestly did not know that, and neither did many of my friends. If this is the case, they should change the rating system as it is misleading.

I'm sure there's a whole movie about why this batman is so far into the dark that the solo movie will answer i'm sure. But i believe bvs has all the hints in it that we need to figure out why. Also, the batman we're goimg to get after the events in bvs will be more of the traditional batman, the movie hints at this even more with the final few scenes.

Agreed, I didn't understand how they became "friends" so quickly.  I could understand Batman begrudgingly helping Superman given the circumstances, but if Batman truly blamed Superman for 1000s of deaths for all of the destruction he caused, I don't see Batman just brushing it all under the rug and calling them friends.

Spoiler

Superman didn't go there planning to kill, or wanting to kill batman, he wants to talk, but this superman is also more human and not the perfect boyscout from before, he gets angry and starts to get physical with batman.  The whole mom bit was a great touch actually, it snapped batman back from where he was and was willing to go in this movie, he remembered why and what he's really suppose to do, it also shows him that superman is just another guy with a mom, not a "god", a dude from Kansas,

The things Bruce says to Diana at the end and the fact he doesn't brand Lex shows he's snapped out of this rage/cruel mode he's in, probably after the events with Robin.

^

Spoiler

Agreed.  At some point during the "Martha" thing, he realizes that Lex is just playing both of them as pawns.  It may not be explicitly stated out to the viewer, but it's clear that's part of what happens and why they all of a sudden are buddy buddy.

Had there been better direction in this movie, they could have cut out some of the other junk and focused on that a bit so it didn't seem so "all of a sudden"

Neowin exclusive!

Leaked original script has the following lines*

Batman:  Tell me, do you bleed?

Superman:  You mean, like your parents?

Batman: No, like your planet

Yeah, it's somewhat misleading. RT should only be used as an indicator of how many critics liked a movie, but not how much they like it.

Tbh, despite not being a fan of the tone of the movie, on purely action basis, this Batman was the best one we got on screen, and Affleck did a pretty great job as Bruce. A solo movie is the way to go, I just hope they let him direct it, and aim for a script that is focused on telling just one story.

The talk is that he's going to direct it, and as for script, i saw a post saying he's going to work with one of the writers behind some JL comics and other DC stuff, i'll have to look for the name again.

*edit*  I looked it up, it's Geoff Johns, he's worked on some great stuff.

Just got back from the movie and I loved it. Not sure why everyone has to be so hyper critical and can't just enjoy a movie. Only issue I had was that Batman was ready to kill Superman with a spear until he finds out his mom has the same name then they are friends?

I wonder how you'd feel if native born Brits suddenly treated you as "dirty crooked immigrant" for being half Trump-American? If they ordered you to leave and "go back to your corrupt country" (on the other side of the Atlantic), would you go? The truth is based on facts as supported by evidence. As requested in your previous posts, I have used the facts in your own post to show everyone the truth.

I'm not saying that tariffs are the correct solution, but what else would they be used for? What else could Trump have in mind for wanting them, if he hasn't figured out that labor costs are higher in the US?

    • Sihoo Doro C300 Pro V2 Ergonomic Office Chair review: The Ikea of chairs by Steven Parker I've reviewed a few gaming chairs over the past three years or so and generally found them to score well in our reviews. SIHOO reached out asking if I was interested in taking a look at their flagship chair, the Doro C300 Pro V2. I never got the chance to check out its predecessor, but the V2 is described as an "Adaptive Ergonomic Chair." It became available to buy in April of this year. Let's get things rolling with a closer look at the specifications and features. Specifications Doro C300 Pro V2 Model Ergonomic Materials Mesh Back and Seat; Soft PU Coated Armrests Height adjustability 45.5 - 53 cm / 17.5" - 20.9" Seat (w+d) 52 x 43 - 47 cm / 20.5" x 16.9" - 18.5" (adjustable) Backrest 52 – 60 cm / 20.5" - 23.6" (adjustable) Lumbar support Mesh built-in (adjustable) Armrest adjustability 8D Bionic Armrests Rocking angle 105°, 120°, 135° (fixed) Neck support Mesh built-in (adjustable) Net weight 27.3 kg / 59.64 lbs Weight support 150 kg / 330 lbs Colors Black, White Warranty 5 years (upon registering) Price $499.99, $539.99 Introduction At first glance, it looks like a chair that in another life wants to be a Herman Miller; It certainly looks like my Aeron Remastered, but the Doro C300 Pro V2 has quite a few more features and costs quite a bit less. SIHOO says that it is made up of a "DynaCore" system that tracks your movement and synchronizes the headrest, backrest, lumbar support, and armrests as you shift, twist, or recline. They also say that the "SyncroFlex Backrest" molds to your spine, which kind of describes how the mesh fabric works in most ergonomic chairs, but anyway. Below are the meat and potatoes measurements for the chair. Here is the same tech sheet, but in inches. Durability I would be remiss to not talk about the various durability testing this chair underwent before coming to market, as this is claimed on the product page. First of all, the chair is BIFMA-, SGS-, and TÜV-certified. As for durability, the tests undergone were: 100,000 Castor cycles tested 120,000 Armrest cycles tested 120,000 Recline cycles tested 120,000 Gas lift cycles tested 60,000 Armrest durability cycles tested 120,000 Rotation cycles tested Nothing about weights testing, though. Now that's all disclosed, now onto my own personal findings. Assembly The Doro C300 Pro V2 came in two large boxes (1) (2), and everything was packed very well, protecting the different parts of the chair. In the box, there is a folded sheet that explains the 12 steps to assemble it; they are: Remove the bottom cover on the aluminum base; Insert the five legs into the aluminum base and use ten screws to fasten them; Insert the castors into the legs; Replace the bottom cover on the bottom of the aluminum base; Place the Class 4 Hydraulics gas cylinder into the aluminum base; Screw the bottom part of the arm rests, taking care of the orientation using two screws on each side; Use three torx screws to fasten the footrest to the bottom of the seat; Fasten the backrest to the seat using four torx bolts; Fasten the armrests to the backrest using four Torx bolts (two on each side), taking care to note the orientation; Place the chair onto the Class 4 Hydraulics gas cylinder; Insert the headrest into the top of the backrest; Use two torx screws to fasten the headrest to the backrest. There's also an online guide you can refer to. Carefully unpacking the two boxes took around 15 minutes because almost everything is wrapped in plastic and protective foam; the chair assembly itself took around an hour. I say in the above assembly steps to take note of the orientation, because it's not obvious which way around the bottom portion of the armrests go, and although there is an L and R on the bottom of the armrests, it also wasn't clear from the instructions which was actually left or right, facing the chair, or in the seated down orientation? Anyway, I ended up putting the bottom portions on the wrong sides, and after securing one of the armrests, I discovered that although it was on the correct side, the armrest base could rotate a full 360°, but not when bolted to the chair, so I had to remove it, rotate it, and then bolt it back on. Truly an Ikea experience! Also, to complicate things further, although all the parts are labeled from A to X (yes, that's 24 parts) unhelpfully, these letters do not appear on the parts themselves or the package with the bolts, screws, and washers. There's also a pair of protective gloves in the box, but I think they were made for much smaller hands than I have. Even my friend, who is 5.1, had difficulty putting them on. Once assembled, I needed to sit down. Anyway, as I said, it looks quite similar to my Herman Miller. And here is the back of it. If you look at the product page and on Amazon, it seems like a lot of thought has gone into the chair itself and what it's capable of, but there is no mention at all about the castors, and this is an area where I think the chair trips up quite quickly. I found it difficult to move the chair in any direction. I asked a friend who came to visit me earlier this week to test my findings, and she said that the wheels were "no good," so it definitely isn't just me. I am 6'2 myself and a big guy, I work from home and gained a few pounds from mostly staying in and the hell away from other people. However, the Doro C300 Pro V2 is rated for up to 150kg (330lbs), which in my case is used well within its max rating. Ergonomics The number of adjustments you can make, right up to setting it in nap mode — which I haven't fully tested yet — is what you'd expect from a premium chair. Yes, you can go up and down (max 7.5 cm adjustment), rock back and forth (with tilt adjustment), and lock the chair between three stages of 105°, 120°, 135°, which is not quite as flat as the AndaSeat I tested at 160°. Some thought has also gone into the "8D" armrests, too, which are cushioned but quite firm; you'll only know it if you press hard into the PU-covered tops, which give about half a centimeter, but it's enough to ensure your skin won't get awkwardly stuck to it in warmer (or sweatier) conditions. It almost feels like plastic and is very easy to keep clean. However, the armrest positions move far too easily, and I am not sure what that "elbow" function is. Maybe it is good for a short person with short arms, anyway, I never used it and kept it flat at all times. There are eight levels of adjustment for the armrests, they are: backwards, forwards, swing left/right, height up and down, tilt, and 360° rotation, which can be handy for desk clearance. As I said, the armrest pads shift far too easily, which could give off an ergonomic vibe, but who wants the armrest sliding when you are shifting weight? The height adjustability does lock into place when lifting and adjusting. Comfort This is ultimately what it boils down to at the end of the day, right? Quite a lot of reviews praise the comfort of this chair, and I don't disagree that the mesh seating is quite comfortable. I am used to the material from my daily Herman Miller. However, the backrest cannot be locked into place, and this is actually a feature; as you shift or recline yourself on the chair, the backrest moves with your body. It took some getting used to. The lumbar gives ample support, but I would have preferred an adjustable one built into the seat base, as this causes the backrest to move up and down at will. Again, as with my previous chair review, this chair is also rated for tall people, but nowhere in the product documentation does it say how tall. Being 6'2 myself, I'm happy to say that the backrest is tall and wide enough, and thought has been given to being able to adjust the neck rest, but as others have mentioned in their reviews, people as tall as 6.2ft is about the limit for the neckrest. Conclusion What I didn't like The footrest is rated for 15kg (33 lbs), which to me seems a bit light, and after looking online, it seems like a chair footrest for adults must be at least twice that rating. In all honesty, they are just hollow metal tubes, so it is not recommended to let a kid sit on them. I also feel like it doesn't really go out far enough for my height, so that kind of puts the dampener on me being able to use it regularly. I'll just have to continue to use my subwoofer as a footrest! I do not like the armrests being able to shift around as easily as they can, and they are a little too forward-positioned in the chair to comfortably sit close to my desk, because even in the lowest height position, they don't allow me to go under the desk like is possible with my Herman Miller. I also feel like this chair could have been delivered partially constructed, especially the armrests on the seat, and why the aluminum base wasn't already pre-constructed (without the castors) is baffling, considering it would have fit in one of the two boxes that way. The instructions also need to be clearer. On the pamphlet, there's an A to X listing (which is also used in the steps), but none of the physical parts use this lettering system! What I did like I'll be honest, I haven't used it for very long, just one week, and seating comfort is subjective after all! Any spills wiped straight off it, the stitching, and the lines look great, not a fray to be seen or stitch out of place. It looks kind of cool, too. My favorite feature of these seats is the nap mode. While you're not lying completely flat, it leans far back enough to make you easily doze off after a heavy gaming or working session. Overall, this chair offers plenty of comfort features. The MSRP does vary quite a bit depending on the region, at £549.99 in the UK, and €580 in Europe, and $599 before tax in the U.S. However, shipping is free, which is a bonus for such a heavy item. Is it worth it, though? At three years' warranty, I think it's a decent deal. Another firm out of Germany sent me a free replacement hydraulic gas spring for a chair that failed after almost four years, so it was well outside its two-year warranty. My advice is to always try, as you might have the same luck I did. If I could fault it at all, it would be the constant shifting of the armrests and backrest. Where to buy Although the footrest variant normally costs $539.99, it has been discounted to $469.99 on the official website in Black or White. In fact, the non-footrest variant is only $40 cheaper.
