Suicide Squad Finishes Post-Production

David Ayer has announced that work on Suicide Squad is now complete. The director made the announcement via Twitter after putting the finishing touches on the next DC Films release.

“Squad is completed! Finished final mix and coloring. Now it's off to the lab and then the world. Nothing like it out there. It.Is.a.Beast,” Ayer’s tweet reads.

I don't know why that's a bad thing, the line between PG-13 and R is a thin one, few more F-bombs here and there and you go from PG-13 to R, it doesn't take much.    Now if this was PG and not PG-13 i'd start to scratch my head.  Todays PG-13 isn't what it was 20 years ago.

This movie is expected to open with a $120million weekend, it should be able to do that for sure IMO, hell, wouldn't surprise me if this and WW both do more at the box office than BvS' $870million.

A few early reviews have hit today, up on youtube, I haven't seen any spoilers etc, don't want to, but the one spoiler free review I checked out said the movie was loads of fun and worth it.   I can't wait to see this, could easily hit $1b if it's as good as they say.

From Gizmodo, didn't read it, they were nice not to post spoilers:

Spoiler

Suicide Squad is a weird movie, and not just because it’s about a motley crew of supervillains set in the DC universe. The movie itself is also a motley amalgamation—a strange blend of different tones, stories ,and pacing all mashed into something that has cool individual elements, but never really comes together.

Off topic, without being too spoilerish, can someone give me an idea as too where are the "good" superheroes in this movie? (i know batman is there)? Or is it too much of a movie spoiler?

'Suicide Squad' Review: These Heroes May Be Bad, But Their Movie Is Even Worse

IndieWire - ‎22 minutes ago‎

“Suicide Squad” promises to flip the script on superhero movies by forcing the audience to root for the bad guys. But that isn't enough.

I don't think anyone cares about RT scores anymore, let alone what the critics say.  Often the critics scores and the average audience scores never match anyways.

Maybe that's true, but it certainly doesn't hurt a film to have positive reviews. It can definitely help create more buzz.

Buzz is not something this film is lacking, in the end it'll be the audience and people talking to their friends that will paint the better picture.   I'm just pointing out the critics don't matter much, they can nitpick and moan about the little things all they want, to try and sound sophisticated, but in the end those little things are not what the general movie going public even care about.

Besides, how do you explain something so disconnected like the new Ghostbusters RT scores?    Critics gave it a 73% and the audience 58%

Then there's the new tarzan movie, critics hammered it with a 35% and the audience is up at 67%.  Critics don't even pay to watch these movies at the end of the day, why should I value their opinion over some friends of mine exactly?   I think in the end the audience score is the one that holds more value for a movie.  Besides, we see the difference at the box office with movies that get low critics scores making good chunks of cash and being a success.

"Critics don't even pay to watch these movies at the end of the day, why should I value their opinion over some friends of mine exactly?"

Because they do it for a living, and might provide insight that your friends lack? I wouldn't trust a friend whose favorite movie is Transformers to recommend anything other than dumb action movies. I mean, there's some serious mental hoops you're jumping through to justify the bad reviews there. Perhaps the movie is just, you know, bad?

Anyway, I'm kind of surprised, I thought they were on to something good here ,the concept looked good, but all the reviews read like confirmation of all the worst fears you could have had about the movie: poor characterization and dumb plot pieced poorly together. I'll still check it out for myself, of course, but I doubt I'll go to a theater  to see it, BvS early reviews were spot on, so I wasted the money on a pretty crap movie going experience back then.

That seems to be such a common occurrence with these big budget crapfests. It blows my mind how studio executive suits with little to no creative abilities themselves think they know better than the visionaries behind the camera.

Yeah, they're better off just letting the creative people do their thing...

Thank god for the directors cut versions we get on disc later, then we get a better idea, unless what they cut out is lost forever.

    • Microsoft admits one of the most crucial Outlook features is currently broken by Sayan Sen Microsoft is making some decent progress when it comes to Windows 11. Recently we have confirmed reports of some rather useful improvements landing in the next version of the OS, 26H2, wherein GPU driver TDR crashes may finally be fixed, plus the company is also allowing users to disable web content on the Search. On the Outlook front though things have not been so rosy. Last month in May we reported several problems affecting basic functionalities on the app. These included a problem where documents would open blank or corrupt themselves. Following that, Quick Steps, a very useful feature, would no longer work correctly, and finally, Microsoft acknowledged a problem wherein images would fail to load up properly inside the email. Microsoft had resolved those bugs later and almost exactly a month after we reported on them, the company has now admitted a new similarly basic issue, this time on Macs. Users recently started noticing that Outlook would no longer display email threads properly as the original message itself was not displayed. An affected user Tsoumpas, C (ngmb) nicely described the problem in a forum post they made on Microsoft's site. They wrote: "Description of the issue: After updating Outlook for Mac [Version 16.110 (26061317)] on 18/6/2026, replying to any email no longer includes the original message in the reply window. Prior to the update, replies correctly contained the original email text below my response. Expected behavior: The original message should be included in the reply, as in previous Outlook versions and according to the configured reply settings. Actual behavior: The reply window contains only a blank composition area (or only my response), with none of the original email text included." Obviously this must be a highly frustrating for users as noted by several in that thread. The post, at the time of writing, has also been upvoted by more than 40 users indicating that is a fairly widespread bug. Thankfully Microsoft seems to have acknowledged the problem right around that time as it opened a new issue on its official website. In the support article, the company recommends switching to Outlook for Mac from the legacy app, where the problem appears to be happening.
