No Shave November 2014 Member Pics.

Recommended Posts

This year I'm giving No so shave "No shave November" a try. At the moment I'm only 6 days in. I just shaved my neck today, because I do have some standards.

Lets see Neowin Members shave November beards.

When did "Movember" turn into No Shave November? This seems to be the first year I've heard this mentioned at all...

yeah,  WTF????      Seriously it is Movember and it is for Mustache!

No shave november sounds like a copout for lazy people!    You just look like a bum.   There is no grooming involved.  Mustache is an effort.

you don't look like you are doing it for a cause (as with mostache you clearly do - not many people sport them otherwise)

EDIT:   NEVERMIND

Many men and women participate in an international event called No Shave November (with its own portmanteau word "Noshember"). Its main purpose is for fun or competition and there is no relation to Movember.

Opps, did not know this things existed in parallel.

Overall I do think it is pretty weak they changed it to beards as it used to be mustaches, and that separated the boys from the men.

Also since I have a beard all year long, it does mean I am at an unfair advantage.

With all that said, I will not be trimming by beard at all this entire month.

So here is my beard taken just a few minutes ago, at the start of the month.

Will post at the end of the month to show how much it has grown.

Here is a picture from September 24th as I was growing it out a bit before I trimmed it a few weeks back.

For those who barely have any facial hair like myself :P I'd look downright silly with a stache

yeah my mustache is about the same quality, and my beard is same quality, but only covers the chin..     I hate movembers...            after 5 days i start to look ridiculous, and it does not really get better.

longer i have done is 3 WEEKS, and still nothing reasonable - still looks the same as after week 1, not bigger.  you can see the huge gaps between hairs, lol.

i have a better chance to grow a beard on my legs :shiftyninja:

I unwittinglly joined the club this month.  I'm about a week in now and am living in fear of my wife breaking out the razor when I sleep.  :)  (she hates it)  I decided I wanted to grow a beard and add to my goatee.  It is a bit less dense in person, the camera adds some fullness to it.  I have had a goatee since '06, and a Mustache since '90.  I freak people out when I shave it all off, they can't look at me. LOL

My beard after 2-3 days         Yeah, not doing it.    Mustache is even worse, so I shave it daily.

You guys have fun.  I will shave at least every 3 days ;)

Not everyone grow same speed or length.

Some grow slow, some grow fast.

I used to have long hair during high school.  Similar to Mel Gibson's in Lethal Weapon.

I had a haircut ... my ex said why did you cut it off... so I explained to her... then

I grew hair long and she said wow.. your hair grow fast...

After 1 week unshaven, I have beard similar to Larry's on previous page ..

My facial hair doesn't grow that fast, nor does it cover much.

This is after a week or two. I've only been having my neck because neck hair is just ew gross., but its been a couple days since i've done that. Gross.

I'm tryin to have a long beard so i can better hide my face. Some day. maybe some day.

    • I can answer about the Linux bit. I only used AMD GPUs. I currently have a 9060XT (8GB) that fits my needs, I'm not a gamer, so I don't need that much GDDR. But lately, NVIDIA has grown a lot in the recent years. Oh, the horrors of NVIDIA drivers not working. But they have been getting better. I know a lot of members onm here that are running cachyOS and other distros, and are fine with a 4090/5090 variants. Really, though, I would stick with AMD variants.
