Winamp 5.0 Final Download Links

It's looking very good to me. I never liked WA3 and thought of it as a resource hog.

WA5 is really great, and looks nice as hell too. Draws nore processsor than WA2 but what do you expect if you run the new skins.

Still, seems definatly worth the upgrade. And I think I'm already stuck

I hope it wont be "LEAKED", as the offcial release for it is due TODAY , from all i can tell about the Mods and team comments on the winamp boards. Patience ..

@shawn_cruikshank: True, But some bugs were discovered and Nullsoft didnt want to release another disappointing (somewhat, Winamp5 was greatness ever since the alpha) release like WA3 (which isnt exactly nullsoft, they are more responsible to 1.x\2.x\5.x), so it was delayed ..

Anyway, Justin's .plan says its today, and since he's the founder of Nullsoft (AFAIK) id believe :)

Hmm. A little bit more investigation has shown that you can get the build dated December 14 by downloading the "Pro" version that cowabunga provided the link to in this post. It will ask you to register it at the end of the install process (enter name and serial key), but just clicking cancel doesn't seem to do any harm, and if you check Winamp's about window on it, you will have the one dated December 14.

Now all that's left to see is if the guys at Nullsoft will release a new build (with an even more recent date) when the new Winamp.com homepage is updated.

cool. how's performance compared to winamp 2.9x?

Winamp 5 perfoms exactly the same or even better than WA 2.9x or even 2x.

As in it uses no more resources, or maybe even less, with classic skins that is.

Using freeform skins will use more depending on skin complexity, which is understandable of course, but I still think WA 5 uses way less resources with freeform skins than WA3 does.
