winamp5 rocks! except sometimes it uses 30megs of ram for no reason...but only for a few seconds... dunno why that is?

Hmm, it barely uses memory here so .. But i can think of a few things :

Mess with the timer resolution option, it uses less\more RAM according to settings ..

Also check if disabling "Alpha Blend Desktop" reduces memory use ..

when i load winamp it's using about 30 MB's of memory, but then drops down to 5...takes a bit to load up winamp though.

dude, dont mix memory and pagefile

winamp uses 9mb of memory all the time and uses 27mb or pagefile

I will not start a flamewar here about memory compared to foobar.... ;)
