,Jan 6 2004, 19:46] I think you have the right to physically punch out that person's lights :D

Yea, I should. His reason was that my experimental AD (active directory) was conflicting with his AD and that he couldn't get in to disable it. Even if that was the case, he could have waited till I came into the office before he physically pushed the power button.

Ah well, what's done is done. At least now I can perform all the security updates and stuff..

Don't worry, I'll easily move up in the ranks again.

edit: i'll have to clear the cache, one of the cache servers isn't updating properly.

that depends. what os is it?

I don't know for sure (since I can't read german so reading the any docs or the forums at uptime.0rd.net is out of the window - also google translation = slow) but I think the Uptime Client must be running on the machine that has the uptime you want to submit.

Also, I haven't seen any options in the client application itself (which can be set to english thankfully) which would suggest that you could *currently* connect to another PC for its uptime.

i was asking what os the computer you want to submit is on. as far as i know you cant get the uptime client to connect remotely to a computer. it has to be on that computer. so youll have to install it on to it

I have a Linux server I could have added, but I do not understand how to install and run it.

My german is not the best and the babelfish translation does not work on the "HowTo" link!

Anyone care to write a Linux howto, if not already done?

Solaris

    • I am not surprised because life is the product of a lot of biochemical and physical processes that releases various energies as a by-product. The only thing new here is the detection of these photon emissions. The researches noted this "glow" is not a metaphysical one. They don't even immediately end when one is dead. Things like fires, light bulbs, and on a bigger scale stars release a lot more "light" and they are hardly alive.
