Just run the executable again. You can blame my restarts on my Radeon consistently crashing every few days, for those who want Neowin to surpass the ungodly multi-year uptime crews.

:p - that's what power saving mode is for. Most of the power goes in powering the hard drive and fan motors, which can be set to turn off, or at least slow down when the computer is not in use.

Doesn't the average computer use as much electricity as a light bulb?

I'm not being selfish..

But if and when we end up going through "rolling blackouts" and goverment displays a federal warning because we used up too many plants.. we're running out of power I'll turn off the computer. Odds are Neowin would shut down too because it'd be the end of the world.

So.. Yea. I'll leave my computer on as much as possibile. :devil:

Computers were designed to be on.. they are also designed to be effecient with electricity.. it's the old computers that you have to worry about.. but still, I don't think it sucks up that much electricity..

besides, we don't seem to be in any state of emergency that requires us to conserve power!!
