This looks cool, but alas, I'm using a Mac. I've got a PC, but I rarely turn it on... so that doesn't do any good. :p

I see a linux client... anyone know if I'd be able to compile it for OS X?

If not, I could just throw it on my work PC... I leave it on all the time...

I have a linux webserver that after i took off the graphical desktop its been sitting in the closet with no monitor and I do commandline stuff remotely so now there would be no reason to restart as it probably wont ever crash :)

BTW: how often does the program resend the uptime data to the site.

i don't know about the linux client, but for the windows client, you can specify how often you want the data sent..

hmm.. its been over an hour now and hasnt updated i checked the readme and ive ran the help and it shows all the switches and there was nothing about updating :(

I had to edit the crontab file to make it update hourly, the instructions for that was in german on the site so i missed it the first time through but its all good now

see i dont know about this.......but it will be hard for us to go up on the ranks if people that have to reboot daily join the league.

unless all the 0d uptimes i see are from people that just joined and are not planning to reboot to help the neowin league go up.

or what?

dont mean to sound rude but thats the goal of the project right.....to have greater uptimes.

I was installing Uptime++ on my other computer and entered my info for my main computer and it updated.. oh **** well okay.

So then I enter the right information and all is well but I go back to my main computer and there is an error.. like I cheated or something I guess it's in french or whatever.. Everytime I try and update it says like contact admin (all foriegn but it does say contac eh admin or something lol)

same thing here, i used to a packet sniffer, and then recreated the same information that it sends with some false data :whistle:, but first time it worked ok as the response i got from the server was an "OK", but then i tried updating with the client, and it doesnt let me anymore :(

That was the intended goal, but I guess it's now for fun. We have went up and dropped in ranks.. we are now #294.
