Neowin Uptime Project Group

I give up!

All I get is this message when I try to start the client: Could not resolve hostname: Success :(

The documentation for this project is in german (sadly), so I don`t find a sollution to my problem.

To bad as I could have helped Neowin out with my 55++days uptime!

Solaris

Maybe someone could start a simular project in English so the rest of the world could join in?

I don`t understand much german and the Babel Fish translation is just horrible and slow.

what is there to understand? just register, download the client, and then load the client.

see thats why I like windows...lol.

blah.......I was third place for like a few hours. I dont know who jumped off the league and I went up.

I switched ISPs today....and my dad asked me to change the router location so he could get a better reception......im glad i didnt have to shut down my server while changing cables and stuff.

well.....back to fourth

lol. Why'd he leave?

hey Bx, you said you were going to add some tutorial or explain how to host our own images...when can we see that?? :D

plus if you could tell me how to use the top-5 script on another image....or if i could host it on my server so i could change the image....that'd be great.

looks like you're 3rd now.. Zio-ND just came and left.?:pp

That's very weird...wonder where he went.

Especially since it says he's still in it

I wonder if you're removed from the toplist if you don't update in a while...he hasn't updated since 1/5

,Jan 9 2004, 01:00] Solaris, no luck with that translated sticky then?)

The translation sticky was some helpful, it says how to install, configure and start the client. But I tried to seach the uptime forum for the error message I got, but no match. So I am stuck!!

I got the setup right, because I set it up for a friend of mine and it`s working great on his machine!

anyone kno how I can grab my servers uptime on the network? it has no moniter and stuff and i dont wanna move it.  its got 625 days uptime.  I gotta make us first, but how? err.  i tried accesing remotely, didn't work

If you are running linux and you have remote ssh enable get the program called putty remotely connect to it from another comp on the network send the package to that comp using ftp or something and then untar the package, view the install file, and install it remotely. Exactly what i did, becuase my server doesnt have a monitor either because i can do everything via remote ssh

edit: and one more thing, if you constantly reboot your machine dont join.

    • I am not surprised because life is the product of a lot of biochemical and physical processes that releases various energies as a by-product. The only thing new here is the detection of these photon emissions. The researches noted this "glow" is not a metaphysical one. They don't even immediately end when one is dead. Things like fires, light bulbs, and on a bigger scale stars release a lot more "light" and they are hardly alive.
