nacs
Just got my uptime client working. Pretty strange that a 10 day uptime puts me at the number 12 spot for neowinners. ;) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/123817-neowin-uptime-project-group/page/19/#findComment-1569508 Share on other sites

krmathis
I give up! All I get is this message when I try to start the client: Could not resolve hostname: Success :( The documentation for this project is in german (sadly), so I don`t find a sollution to my problem. To bad as I could have helped Neowin out with my 55++days uptime! nacs
All I get is this message when I try to start the client: Could not resolve hostname: Success :( That's the exact same problem I had when I tried to install it on another one of my Linux boxes. Couldn't find a solution either unfortunately. krmathis
Maybe someone could start a simular project in English so the rest of the world could join in? krmathis
,Jan 9 2004, 01:00] Solaris, no luck with that translated sticky then?) The translation sticky was some helpful, it says how to install, configure and start the client. But I tried to seach the uptime forum for the error message I got, but no match. So I am stuck!! I got the setup right, because I set it up for a friend of mine and it`s working great on his machine! beh
anyone kno how I can grab my servers uptime on the network? it has no moniter and stuff and i dont wanna move it. its got 625 days uptime. I gotta make us first, but how? err. i tried accesing remotely, didn't work If you are running linux and you have remote ssh enable get the program called putty remotely connect to it from another comp on the network send the package to that comp using ftp or something and then untar the package, view the install file, and install it remotely. Exactly what i did, becuase my server doesnt have a monitor either because i can do everything via remote ssh edit: and one more thing, if you constantly reboot your machine dont join. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/123817-neowin-uptime-project-group/page/19/#findComment-1574351 Share on other sites
GR7
agree with beh.....even if its just for fun.....theres no point in joining if you dont have it on for at least 5, 6 days without a reboot. Why? I try, but I just can't seem to last even 5 days without someone shutting my comp down.
