Got another question for you:  Is there a way to kick off the indexer manually?  For instance, I just added a new folder/file to a collection folder.  I can't seem to find a timer setting or a manual way to kick off the indexer in these cases unless I quit and start back up.  Is there any way to do this other than exit right now?

Thanks again!

Not yet. But that's coming.

Hi all,

A small update is available today. This is the changelog:

8-04-2015: Dopamine 1.0.0.174 (Preview)

  • Reverted to a stable version of the CSCore audio library because of issues in Windows 10 (this temporarily removes WASAPI Event and Exclusive mode support)
  • Added Spanish translation (thanks Jackaluichi from Neowin)

I just had a 138.9 Megabyte update to iTunes. I can't wait til Dopamine is ready.

It's not ready to replace iTunes, but I have a new build ready:

9-04-2015: Dopamine 1.0.0.178 (Preview)

- Fixed issues with playing FLAC files

- Changed the Mini Player a bit

For the mini player I decided to show the title bar for now. The sliding bar was getting on my nerves. I'm trying to find a balance between good looks and usability, so things will probably still change.

For the audio issues, I've added automated testing in my project which I will execute before each release. That should prevent such stupidities in the future :)

The miniplayer is starting to look cluttered to me.  Perhaps when it gets time to settle on the appearance could you add toggles in the settings to show or hide buttons?  Personally all I need is back, play/pause and forward, and I preferred not having the title bar visible.

Ultimately I'd like to get rid of the titlebar AND artist and title. I've seen nice designs which just show them on the cover art. However, designs are just designs. And they always choose a cover where adding text on top just looks nice :) Wouldn't something like this look nice?

It's close to Jan's design. However I don't know yet how to keep things functional with this. I guess I'll find a way someday.

It's just a quick mock up. Let me know what you guys think. I'll wait before changing anything :)

again.. for a future release.

Added new CD's I found at a good will in great condition

No there's a bug nobody can see the likes of their own posts.

[edit] sorry did not see that someone posted it before me i guess a mod can delete this.

Thanks for replying :) No prob, no need to delete anything.

When will the player have "Open with" functionality?

Just curious, I don't usually open music files from the folder, but I thought it was weird that they don't.

Only player in 20 years of playing music on my computer that hasn't opened music in the player that's set as default for the media type.

Anyways... sure like the look and functionality so far, works great.

In my defense: Dopamine is still in early development :D I guess it'll happen in a few weeks.

    • Nvidia is your issue more so than linux itself. I did used it for a while with an old 1060 3gb, but using propietary drivers was kind of messy.

    • The current Statcoungter desktop numbers has Google Chrome increasing it's market share this past year and currently commanding 75% share. Everybody else is just making up the numbers with even MS Edge losing 3% this past year and has dipped just below 10% share which is staggering considering it's default on every Windows deviced purchased. If these numbers are correct that terrible Edge number is both devastating and embarrassing for MS especially when you add in the terribly low Bing market share. This leads me to ask a couple of questions as the default browser holding just less than 10% market share seems really weird. It used to be that all Chromium browsers were being counted as Google Chrome in some cases.  Is this still happening? Do these high Google Chrome numbers contains some Edge user numbers?
