Plenty fast enough for what I want to pay for, I do have the option for 1130Mbps but I have no use for it as I only stream, browse and download PS5 games/updates.

Exactly the same here with Virgin. The download speed is fine for what I require, however I do find the abysmal upload speeds limiting these days.

I wouldn't say no to City Fibre if they ever get round to connecting our street up, 900Mbps up / down for half the price Virgin are charging for 200/20.

I went from 30 Mbps upload to 150 Mbps for about 4 months. Now I'm down to 50 Mbps. My neighbourhood doesn't have fibre internet service, unfortunately.

Thanks for reviving this topic, I came across an issue where my speed was capped at 250Mbps and after two hours of Googling, the only thing that fixed it was TCP Optimizer. I am a little sad that I don't know what caused the slow down, but I am happy my networking in Windows 10 is back to full speed.

Still on a 40Mbps ADSL link here in suburbia. Mind you, my new phone gets ~280Mbps 5G which is nice

You must be right out in the sticks, if I didn't have access to Virgin Media then I'd only be able to get an estimated 8-16Mb.

I'm paying for a 38Mbps service, :(

First of all. Do the speedtest on your phone. If that comes out with the correct speed then try TCPOptimizer (link in my post above) it fixed my slow speed.

I tried TCPOptimizer, on the desktop here, with and without VPN, but no change.

I'm not able to test on my phone,

TalkTalk is a rip off.

That upload must make your connection nearly unusable when you need to download something.

Well, I don't do much downloading,  but I agree that I'm getting a raw deal.

What's your minimum speed quoted on sign-up

I have TalkTalk business broadband, when I signed up the deal was "Up to 38Mbps", but I've only seen it at 20Mbps once in 18months,

I took a two year deal, so I'm kinda stuck till spring.

You may still have the minimum speed of service, I did a quick Google.

I hate asynchronous speeds that US ISPs love to impose. 500 down and 10 up, yeah that's some ######.

It's common everywhere man.

1000 down and 70 up here in The Netherlands.

That optimizer thing is still a thing? I thought it quit being useful years ago. Used to use it myself but haven't in years. Glad it did the trick for you. :)
