I've recently dropped from the 20meg service to the 4. The above two are from yesterday and today

Wow - sucks to be you. On the other hand, Richard Branson lives about 2 or 3 miles from me, so maybe the fact that he uses the UBR has something to do with it. My other (17mbps) post was in peak times. This is what I get early in the morning:

The thing that ****es me off the most about UK ISPs is the fact that we, unlike the rest of teh world, cannot get decent upload speeds. I fail to understand why, if we can get high speed cable internet, we can't get an upload of above ~1Mb. Hmph...

Speed Test and test your connection speed! By measuring the download and upload rate from the following locations you are able to accurately judge your current line throughput or internet connection speed.

http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

Download Speed: 28407 kbps (3550.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 648 kbps (81 KB/sec transfer rate)

this test is bogus!!! Ive only got a 6 meg connection :(

Yeah, weekends seem to be worse. I dropped from 20 because I didn't see the need to spend that much when I didn't do to much downloading. I get by with the 4meg service.
