HP Pavilion G6 - Booting from USB or getting in to the BIOS?

Question

Hi guys,

I've got a HP Pavilion G6 here, and I'm trying to either boot from a USB key or get in to the BIOS to change the boot order. After a bit of searching I see that HP have gone against conventional steps, and that you need to hit the esc key, then hit F10 to get to the BIOS setup options. However, after hitting the esc key and then the F10 key I get "F10...BIOS Setup Options" on the screen and then...nothing. It doesn't disappear, I'm not presented with a menu. It just sits there.

I've also noticed that it doesn't recognise an OS on the HDD. That doesn't have any bearing on my issue with the BIOS, but you never know.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm on a bit of a time limit here as it'll be going tomorrow evening, but it's not the end of the world if it's not resolved. I'm just frustrated and am wondering if anyone has had something similar?

The default key to get into the UEFI settings is the same as it has been for most Pavilions - F2; this is actually carryover from the BIOS and hybrid days, and also applies to their portables.  (Mom's Pavilion AIO is a G6, and my two portables are both Pavilions; the former is UEFI, and the others are hybrids with Insyde hybrid BIOSes).

If you simply need to do a one-time change (installing an OS, for example) it can be done via F10 (not F2); however, you will likely need to turn secure boot off first if a reinstall is in order.
